  1. Just a quick note... the weather is looking good so far for tomorrow. If things go pear shaped this arvo, I'll post an update by 7:30pm tonight. Otherwise, see you all there bright and chirpy tomorrow morning!
  2. Ford Premium Brakes => yes PBR Performance Brakes => yes (that's what I have) Brembo brakes => no (rim design just doesn't fit with them)
  3. FYI - the Great Western Hwy between Mt Lambie and Yetholme is currently closed due to snow. Hopefully the weather will clear up as predicted by the weekend...
  4. Foxtel pulled their planned broadcast of RAW this afternoon after receiving a notice from the WWE (well, that's what they put up on the screen when my TiVo started recorded it). I was really looking forward to watching the three hour "Benoit Highlight Reel".
  5. My reasoning for trying to gauge the interest level is that I want to get you all involved in the August cruise I am planning and to hopefully kick things along again. Last thing I want to do is go ahead and only have one or two Canberra cars turn up at the rally point. So, speak up all you Brumbies fans! That's already part of my latest cruise plan. Just need to rally the masses in your neck of the woods.
  6. Sorry, I don't frequent any of the other forums due to lack of "trolling time". Apparently I have to occasionally do some work or something like that... Speak up on here if you are coming or thinking about joining this cruise. That way I can pick a big enough lunch venue to cater for everyone. Thanks.
  7. Ummm... this is on next Sunday, folks. Anyone else going to join us for a little Mt Panorama action???

Sorry to hear what happened... I feel your pain... In the meantime, welcome to the "Official XR6T Roadkill Society". The almighty Cro is our "El Presidente" and I be your humble secretary. Now if only I could get Q to give my Black Beast a James Bond makeover. Then let me loose at dawn....
  9. A quick look at the calendar in the first post show... Cruise: July 1 => Bells Line to Bathurst Hope to see you there!
  10. Probably get there around 11:00-11:30am... you're more than welcome to join us on the mountain.
  11. When it snows, yes. Obviously if the weather is bad and road conditions are dangerous, we'll cancel the cruise or do something else. I will not put anyone's car or life at risk. That's just insane and puts ALL OF US in a very precarious predicament (legally speaking). The current weather forecast shows that it should be warming up a little by Thu/Fri of next week, so lets hope that it continues onto Sunday, July 1st! On the brighter side, as always I'll have my camera gear with me. So anyone wanting to get some high quality pics of their ride sitting on "pole position", make sure you join us next Sunday!
  12. It's been such a long time since we ran a Canberra cruise. A fact that a few folk have been reminding me about of late. I know, I know... I've been a bad, bad cruise controller... I really want to get something going here, but my problem is I live in Sydney and have a hard enough time getting time away from my overseas work travels to run cruises up here. So if someone would like make some suggestions or even step up and organise a cruise, then I'll be more than happy to give you my full support. The current NSW Cruise Calendar is here so you can see what is planned already. In the meantime, I want to know two things: 1. Who of you in Canberra are interested in cruising? 2. Name some of your favourite drives or cruise routes that you want to do. Please post your thoughts/comments/flames here or PM me privately.
  13. Really hope you can make it. It's always great to have you both join us and keep those "whippersnappers" honest...
  14. GaugeWorks used to do them, but I believe that they discontinued it a long time ago. It was the first "mod" I did back in 2003. I just replaced it with an FPV Gauge Pod and two Cobalt gauges - 20PSI Boost & Oil Temp.
  15. Cro has been the CB Radio King in the past and has helped many people (including myself) find a good deal. I highly recommend that you get a Handheld UHF CB Radio that has a power output of 1 Watt or greater. They cost anywhere from $80-$120. The weaker powered radios are dirt cheap, but the effective range is limited and can cause problems on cruises if you get separated. DSE have a good range of CB radios at reasonable prices.
  16. When: Sunday, July 1st, 2007 Starts: 9AM sharp! Where: Hawkesbury District Tennis Centre Carpark, Richmond Rd, Richmond GETTING TO THE RALLY POINT - Head up Windsor Rd to Windsor - Follow the signs to Richmond - You pass the Richmond RAAF Base on your right and the Shell servo on your left - It's on the left just after you reach the 60km/h sign at Richmond Nearest BP: Windsor Rd in McGraths Hill (2km SE of Windsor) Nearest Caltex: Windsor Rd in Vineyard (5km SE of Windsor) Nearest Shell: on Richmond Rd between Windsor & Richmond CRUISE ITINERARY - Bells Line of Road to Lithgow (break @ Maccas) - Follow the highway to Bathurst - Check out the view atop Mt Panorama - Lunch - Take the back way back to Lithgow (including my favourite "rollercoaster" run) - Do a rare return journey back up Bells Line of Road back home IMPORTANT! 1. Fill your petrol tank PRIOR to reaching the rally point. This will help prevent unnecessary pitstops during the cruise. 2. Make sure you have a CB Radio with batteries fully charged! 3. 17. Only got back today and all this rain and flooding is just making life difficult... even though it's desperately needed! I have a cruise route plan, but I need to go drive it to make sure it's safe for all concerned. Hopefully the weather will ease up a little tomorrow so I can finalise things and post it up on Monday.

Greetings from Mumbai! Holy crap!!! Love to see the rain falling back home, but the Old Pacific Hwy collapsing near Somersby... Double Holy Crap!
  19. Even though most of the current commercial GPS software (like TomTom, Navman, etc) do not show altitude information, it is available from any current GPS receiver. Anyone who has played with GPS Data Logger software will have seen this. BTW - It's always interesting to see the reaction I get from the cabin crew when I hold my bluetooth GPS receiver against the window on a plane. "No sir, I'm not up to anything. I'm just double checking our current position for the pilot..."

  21. This has been one screwed up week, but I finally got around to going through 300+ photos... Photos from Newcastle GoKart Day
  22. Must apologise for my slow turnaround time on the photos. I've been swamped at work all this week. Will try to get something up tomorrow night.
  23. Now if I told you that, it wouldn't be a surprise... All will be revealed in due course.
