  3. So I guess you really need me to hook you up with a pair now huh?
  4. Thanks for the replies, Was just out and about doing the rounds of Harvey Norman / Domayne etc, so far like the look and feel of the HP's the best. Not sure how far the funds are going to stretch (3gb Ram Ivan? ) but the suggestions have been helpful in understanding whats going on. One thing they cant tell me (obviously) is battery life, saying "up to 3 hours....", which means fugg all really. Just have to suck it and see I guess, as it will be plugged in alot of the time anyway.
  5. I'm after a laptop and was after some opinions on brands / specs etc. Firstly, any manufacturers that can be recommended or steered clear of? Not real happy with Dell at the moment after the greif that my desktop is giving me, but if there are some good experiences with service etc please let me know. Also, thinking about jumping into the wide world of Vista, so obviously need to go above 1gb Ram (probably get 2gb), and want to get 100gb odd HDD, but have NFI about processors and graphics etc anymore. Battery life not critical, as it will be used mainly at home or to pass the time at work, dont want something too big as they become a pain in the arse to carry. Probably looking at about $2K slightly more. Thanks T
  6. And why did this f**khead not put the truck into the safety ramp at the bottom of the main hill of Mt Ousley? that's what it is there for.... Witnesses heard him coming over the hill (ie straight past the safety ramp) before they could see the truck. For him to get as far as the Maccas without doing anything to pull the truck up is pretty poor driving. Just amazing luck that no-one was killed.

Sorry to hear mate, hope you find something soon.
  9. The way you 2 peanuts were carrying on in the car reminds me of "What about the brakes, Russ? Oh, the brakes Russ!"
  10. I think its forked. You should sell it, and go and buy a new one. With the V8 this time. ps. When are we going fishing?
  11. Definitely not Cro. He only races 147 metres before backing off and claiming a win.
  12. Onya Glenn, well done mate!
  13. Yeah, Bob is teh guru of teh window tint! He tinted my Liberty when I got it, 20% all round, looks tops, and the quality of his work is great. Best tint job I have had on a car yet. Cant beat the service or the price.
  14. Has there ever been an Australian built car that hasnt had a recall of some form? It happens, who cares. My 2000 Magna still is the best built and most reliable car I have owned, and that includes my current model Liberty.
  15. Good call, keen to know as well.
  16. that's tops.
  17. Another story from Racecar Engineering has been put on the web. This one seems to have alot more info on how the Zeroshift works, with diagrams explaining how concept does what it does. Very interesting read. http://www.zeroshift.com/pdf/RcarN6V15_Zeroshift.pdf Discuss.
  18. I'll put my hand up for this one. Only started early this year, but am enjoying it as a hobby, not to mention having so many bottles of beer stockpiled I dont know what to do with.... Have been concentrating on lagers over the winter months while the temperatures are agreeable, probably switch back to ales again next brew. Bottled a Hahn Premium type beer last weekend, but havent tried a bottle of it yet. The hydrometer sample tasted good though! It was a Morgans Blue Mountains Lager kit, with a brew booster from the Home brew shop, and a Hersbrucker hops teabag. This was also my first attempt at racking to a second fermenter, so will be interested to try the results next weekend. Currently have a Coopers heritage lager on the go, with 1.5kgs of liquid malt. Trying to convice the financial controller that she should buy me a keg system for christmas.
  19. Had a ball in the rain last time we did it, looking forward to having another go. Count me as a starter at this stage.

  23. Geez mate, I so sorry about that. I feel for ya, I really do...
  24. Just as another view on this particular creaking noise, I fixed it completely in my car and it was the parcel shelf. I was originally chasing down a dodgy spot weld in the back there somewhere, because it sounded like a metal on metal creak as the body flexed on accelleration or cornering. Spent many a ride around the block in the boot of the car with my brother driving (naughty naughty I know). In the end isolated the noise to be the drivers side seatbelt reel on the parcel shelf. I removed it and the noise stopped. When I re-installed I made sure that I isolated the metal to metal contact. I think I greased the bolt, put a fibre washer between parcel shelf and seatbelt reel, and applied plenty of silicone when I re-assembled. The noise didnt come back in the next 50,000kms I had the car for. I know someone else tried this on my recommendation and it didnt work, but it is worth a look, noises like that drive me bonkers so I needed to fix it. If you need help removing the parcel shelf covering let me know. *edit* Forgot to mention that the bolt for the seatbelt reel is a T-56 Torx headed bolt. That is the star shaped allen key.
  25. Here, let me pass you a tissue
