  1. Sheesh .. Here I am saying .. "I can get Phase I but just a few more grand for Phase II". After reading that I am thinking .. "Just a few more grand for Phase III". Hmmm .. But then I 'll need Premium Brakes. This really sux. :-)
  2. Thanks for the advice and as much as I'd love to go Phase II right now, I think the Phase I might be the go mainly because I'm a male and I have ZERO patience AND .... I love my T !!!!!!!
  3. I always use CDRs ... errr loaded from purchased originals only of course ... and have never had a problem. One thing I have noticed though, and I don't think this has anything to do with the sound system, is that original CDs sound much better. I can only put this down to the original MP3 rips being sub-standard maybe. So only ever use original purchased CDs !!!
  4. I'm not sure if this topic has been previously discussed but I'll ask anyway. Is it worthwhile to go to Phase I on the journey to Phase II (or III for that matter). I reckon I could sneak in a Phase I but there is no way I could get away with Phase II without the wife signing off on it !! :-( Are there any drawbacks with going to Phase I and then going to Phase II later on ?? Thanks in advance.
  5. I got another nail in my new left rear Dunlop. The leak was slow so it was off to get it repaired. After repairing the tyre, the guy asked if I wanted nitrogen put in all four. I asked what the benefit was and he suggested that nitrogen doesn't seep out like air does and that they run much cooler and therefore wear better. I figured .. why not. Anything to get better tyre wear in the Dunlops which I feel are a very soft tyre.
  6. I'd love a Phase II but I can't see me being able to afford it for a little while. Is it worth while getting the Phase I on the way to Phase II or should I wait and go straight to Phase II when I can afford it ??

My car stops without brake shudder !! No problem !! And cornering ... Like it is on rails !!
  9. That is one tough decision. You'd have to drive both. The decision will probably be made for you after the drive. The other thing I would look for is uniqueness. If by the time the Typhoon comes out there are GTs everywhere, I'd go for the Typhoon based on it being a little bit more exclusive.
  10. What a load of garbage. If someone tried to tell me that warranty was voided because a CDR got jammed they would have a very serious legal fight on their hands (unless a label peeled away). Using CDRs is not illegal so that angle has no weight whatsoever. It sounds like a way of getting out of fixing a problem to me and quite frankly, I'd be surprised if any dealer would pull that stunt.

I have my Biante 1:18 Phantom XR8 #29 of 3000. IMO the Phantom is too dark. Classic Carlectables have the FPV Pursuit and GT due out in March in 1:18. Go to http://www.classiccarlectables.com.au/bopursuit18.html for a sticky.
  12. I'm sorry guys but the SS in that colour is very very plain IMHO
  13. I've driven the 6 speed ClubSport and the 6th gear is a crock of sh*te. No torque whatsoever and you need to be doing 120 to get good use of it at all. I really can't get excited about a 6 speed box. A better 5 speed .. for sure. But where does it end ? 7 speed .. 8 speed ? Might as well be driving a truck. I'm pretty keen to see what the Typhoon has to offer.

If you have a CAD program, you could 'draw' the grill yourself and then send the resulting file to a laser cutter. There are a number of them in Sydney. Some even offer a polishing service. I get things laser cut all the time and the possibilities are endless. Because you are only getting one item, it may cost you several hundred dollars. Email me if you want specific details. 15. So .... what was the change over price ?? .... Ball park will do !! :-)
  16. My XR6T is Phantom and I love it. This is not meant to be a colour war but if you could do it all over again, what would be your choices? When I purchased mine I wanted Phantom, then I thought maybe HgAg then chose Phantom. If I could do it all over again I'd be flipping a coin between maybe Phantom and Blood Orange possibly leaning toward Blood Orange. What about you ??

Saw mine on the floor 15/12/02 and drove it home on 17/12/02. I'm an impatient bas*ard. lol
  18. Just wanted to hear other peoples experiences with tyres. I got a nail in the left rear today ( ouch !! ) and took her down to get it fixed. I was informed that my rears were shot and that the front weren't far behind. So ... after around 38000ks, I've had to get a new set. This included 20 laps around Wakefield Park mind you. How is everyone faring ??
  19. Nothing to speak of and I've done around 38,000. I have a few cosmetic issues to attend to regarding the front spoiler and the driver side skirt (ever seen a grown man cry !!). I've also done about 20 laps around Wakefield Park thrashing the hell out of it and not a hint of a problem. Even the brakes recovered well.
  20. There are a lot of people purple with envy it seems !! :-)
  21. Be extremely careful about becoming a registered club. I was a part of a fantastic un-incorporated club and after 4 successful years, it was decided to incorporate. The club self destructed within 12 months due to politicing and power struggles. Consider it carefully. Ask what a registered club can achieve that an un-registered one can't before making any decisions.
  22. I saw a MercSil GT-P with black stripes today. Not bad but you don't want elegance with a GT .. You want LOUD !!
  23. 2 phat silver stripes straight down the middle !!! :-)

I like the Herrod grill. I think I'll be making a call tomorrow. Thanks guys.
  25. Mondie ... I've owned a lot of cars .. 2 of them were V8s. One was a VK Police Special and the other was a VN SS. I would consider that the GT is a better all round package to the T but I can't see the sense in changing before say ... 3 years. I plan to mod the T a little and it will probably eat unmodded GTs for breakfast. I understand what you say about the power however, but it is in the skill of the driver I feel. If you know the car well, you will know how to get the most out of it, especially in manual. I took my T to Wakefield Park a few weeks back and thrashed the hell out of it. In standard form it was just a pretty quick car compared to a few of the modded cars that were there. In modded form, it will be something to be reckoned with. Don't misunderstand my comments though ... My next car will probably be a V8 again. This is my 3rd XR6 and I regard the complete package as being close to the 3 best cars I have owned with the T being the best. I guess the good news is that while I'm driving a really nice, and quick, car, I can look around and see what is on offer and what will be coming out in the future ... A GTHO maybe ??
