  1. Anyone know much about the new colour called Ego ? Looks like a very deep metallic grey, maybe even a gun metal grey. Looks good on the FPV site but would be interested in hearing some views from people who have seen it in the flesh.
  2. Cheers Mark. That's a little longer than I thought it would be but you'll have an awesome vehicle soon !! Enjoy it mate. I hope to be ordering mine in a few months.
  3. How long is the wait if you don't mind me asking ?
  4. Mine has only just started and is definately from the front of the car. Water levels appear good. My car has done about 95000ks. I haven't had a close look into it yet so I was wondering if other people had it.
  5. I've noticed a smell a bit like steam over the last day or so. My temperature gauge hasn't moved. Anyone else had this ?

Does the BF Phoon sit much lower than the BA XR6T ?

Had a look at a Rapid Phoon on my lunch break today and wondered how it might look with Black GT stripes straight up the middle. I saw a black Herrod modified GT-P with silver GT stripes over the bonnet, roof and boot and it looked great. Would I be stoned to death and shunned by Phoon owners everywhere if I got it done ? I'm a massive fan of the GT40 and new Ford GT and yellow with black GT striping looks brilliant. Just a thought. Will probably wake up tomorrow and think ... "Man .. what was I thinking".
  8. That was a good read !! Well done the Phoon !!

I've put up a thread earlier and I am very keen on a Phoon and I keep hearing that the auto is the way to go. Can I get an idea of who likes to drive their auto fast in a straight line and who actually likes driving around corners, braking, dropping from 4th to 2nd through a round-a-bout etc etc. I'm not being a smart arse. I am being dead serious. Throughout this forum I see 0-100 times and standing quarters. Is there anyone who actually drives around a track? I am being serious here. Is an auto better for this type of driving. And don't get me wrong. I might only take my car to the track once a year but it is the concept of driving with a manual gearbox that gets my motor running. Not blasting down a drag strip. I had no intention of even test driving an auto but I will and I will let you know what I think but my intention is never to blast as fast as I can go in a straight line. It is braking and gearing back and accelerating out of corners that I am interested in.
  10. I love to hear this stuff. Still can't bring myself to buy an auto though. It'll be a manual Phoon for me. Drag racing isn't my thing. I prefer a blatt around Wakefield Park.
  11. Mate .. at least give us a clue as to the dealer. I am in the market for a Phoon and I really don't want to go the this dealer !!!

I have a holding deposit at the moment in south west Sydney. I think it will be around $89,000 on the road.

Anyone know what the average fuel numbers per 100ks are on the Typhoon and the GT. I know it depends on where and how you drive but on average, I'm guessing the GT has to be thirstier. My XR6T over 95,000kms reads about 11.3 which is pretty damn good for a performance car.

Was always leaning that way Shazzy. I just needed some first hand experiences.

Sounds like you got a great deal cooltint. Thanks all. I think it is time to get on the treadmill and start wheeling and dealing with the dealers. I've got the thumbs up from the wife and kids and it looks like a Typhhon in Rapid is the way to go. I will take a GT for a spin but I think the upgradeability of the F6 is a winner (and I can feel a few mods coming already !!!) . I'll keep you guys informed !! Anyone interested in a Limited Edition, 100 only, Black GTO ... I know a bloke who has his name on one !!!

Thanks guys ... All good info. I lean towards the Typhoon but I really need to drive them both. And thanks Buf-Phoon ... No more talk about the GTO. I'm all out of Kleenex !!

Couldn't bring myself to buying an auto. No manual vs auto arguments please. Just my choice.
  20. Hi guys, I haven't been around for ages and I still have my BA Phantom XR6T. I currently have a holding deposit on a GTO LE .. 1 of 100 only (don't hate me) but as each day goes by the pressure from my wife is unbearable. The GTO is extremely impractical. Only 2 doors, no boot space to speak of and not the sort of car you want to be driving everyday to work. So ..... I'm tossing in that idea and looking at the F6 or the GT. I must admit that I am reading more and more that my BA XR6T is probably quicker than both these cars. The GT I understand due to the weight but the F6 ??? How could this be ? Are there any guys here who have owned a T and moved to a GT or F6 and can explain to me why I should get one over the other. I love the Turbo but I feel it struggle on hot days. I also love the brilliant sound of the V8 but to be blown away by a T would make me cry !! What to do ?? Cheers guys.
  21. Not sure if this has been discussed before. After 50,000+ ks I'd like to find someone who will service my car with a high level of expertise. Are people still going back to their dealers or are their better mechanics out there for the T. I'm in South West Sydney. Curious to hear what people think. Cheers.
  22. You could try Domes Technologies for badges. They do all my computer and simulation badges. Pretty sure their factory is somewhere in QLD. Also, I have a pretty good fibreglasser who does a lot of body kit work here in Sydney.
  23. Sheesh ... I haven't been on here for a few months and there is CRAZY talk going on !! I must admit that the R8 from the Sydney Motor Show was close to the pick of the show for me but I don't think I'd be jumping the fence just yet. As someone said earlier, you want more power .. go Phase II or Phase III. And Mondie .... What have I missed ? Once a loyal T man. Then you jump onto a GT and start talking it up. Now !?!?!?!? The other team ??? Maybe you should just get a Ferrari mate !!
  24. Great colour .. Awesome Ute .. Brilliant Number Plate !!!
  25. Wow ... You guys are heavy on the throttle. Maybe auto and manual use fuel differently too. After nearly 50,000K mine shows 12.4 / 100 L . Oh ... and mine is a manual.
