  1. From my experience, the standard BA/BF F6 intercooler is good for a fair bit of power, around 270-300rwkw, which is roughly the same as the efficiency of the Monza/wog intercooler. If you can get a BA/BF F6 one cheaper, I would go for that over the Monza one. Only catch is the BA/BF one is standard silver, the Monza one you have the choice of silver or black, so you have to factor the painting cost onto the price of the F6 one if you want to keep it stock looking. hope that helps.
  2. 23, ba mkII f6 typhoon.
  3. not a bad first day at the new job. keen to get right into it even more than I did today:)

  4. Poking is the best form of teasing, yes or no?

  5. By the way, you can't run the UB CAI with the factory intercoolers cold side, as it takes up that area under the battery. If you are replacing the cold side kit and/or intercooler with any aftermarket one ( that doesn't retain the factory cold side under-battery pipe), the UB CAI is your best bet.
  6. I was taking the turbo out anyway because I had to at the time. The r-clip should pull off out towards the rear of the car. Push back on the other way obviously but if its held on by a circlip it'll be difficult. Loosening the manifold off does make it tons easier with the access, but you have to be careful not to bend coolant lines and oil lines. Took me about 3 hours to do the whole job of taking the turbo out (have to drop coolant to take it out) and putting it back together.
  7. Well, if you can loosen all the bolts on the compressor housing that are holding the actuator in place, that's the really easy bit. The hard part is after you get the new one into place (after taking out the R-clip holding the actuator arm to the wastegate flapper) and putting the arm onto the flapper arm/holder, the R-clip must be pushed back on. Very difficult to do with no visual access, but if you persist, it certainly can be done:)
  8. damn, that was a bloody good match... pity it was a draw, exciting nonetheless, even if channel 7 are a bunch of dick suckers who don't know how to broadcast live tv. :)

  9. In the fords I have owned, slightly to the left of the middle marker on the temp is where it sits permanently when the car is up to full operating temperature. If the thermostat isn't stock, then this reading may be higher/lower depending on the thermostat chosen. Going over halfway is highly unusual, in my experience. How long does it take to go back below halfway?
  10. Australia, this is what you get for sending a half-arsed team to the WORLD cup, the end of the domination. It did have to end sometime.

  11. Try this thread, Or an audiocontrol lc6
  12. this interesting quote... "The size of the oil industry — in terms of demand — has increased by 15 percent in the last eight years, while the size of the oil market as a financial instrument has increase by 600 to 700 percent". Unfortunately the petrol price goes up with the financial market, not the demand of the oil industry like it should

  13. Very nice looking car mate, you will love it. Not sure he will need a turbo back exhaust as it certainly doesn't look like an xr6t it looks n/a to me, and the p-plates give it away. But to my knowledge an exhaust does not void warranty, especially on a simple flow and a/f ratio falcon naturally aspirated. Enjoy coming over to the better side of life.

  15. I did call around to quite a few turbo specialists to see what the cost would be, most were a little high... but I found that ETM (Extreme Turbo Manifolds) does a good value recondition of your turbo for you (give Leigh a call for a quote, or send him a PM). He also does an external wastegate to your existing dump pipe if you so choose to go down that pathway for modification, but of course at an extra cost.
  16. I just replaced the cartridge on my broken turbo (oil starvation for sure, completely snapped the rotating shaft, separating the turbine & compressor wheel) with this replacement cartridge. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110647498377#ht_1772wt_1148 Works a treat with the standard housings and only took about a week and a half to arrive from the states. Only recommendation I have in the changeover is to make 100% sure on your alignment of both housings so all your lines and connections go together smoothly:) had a few silly problems sorting that out. Keith
  17. I'm going to guess VL stands for "Very Low" or "Very Loud" but of course he could just be attracting turbo-nutter attention.
  18. Pm sent! I have one available.
  19. G'day Rudiger, Might join you for my first cruise with the forums with a +1 passenger. Maybe two more passengers or another car but I'll let you know. We would prefer to meet up later in the cruise as I'm in Ballarat, geelong is much easier to get to than Melbourne so early. Keith.
  20. why can't I comment on what people "like" on facebook... do they think they'll start flame wars with the responses...
