Nah different mate, Lock diff will turn the inside wheel faster than it should and it will pull a the steering, the inside wheel will screech as you make the turn, and it might chatter if there is an uneven surface etc. The LSD will try to spin the wheel, but then be arrested by the LSD coupling and then try to spin again and the get arrested again etc... it will chatter as the cylce continues. WHen you completely overcook it the two wheels will almost lock and your spining both, usually sideways down the street!
  2. I have seen this picture a number of times before on other forums. Have you posted it before? Is it your car? And you don't NEED new shocks to lower the car, there are no such thing as short shocks for BA yet, and even then, it will only be for the front (in the form of coil over). The XR shocks are very good, and you can only get better normal length shocks (like bilstein or Koni) that have the same travel anyway.
  3. Too bad its not actually an F-Series.
  4. Well that sucks, in that case I will take the Navara out there. Last year I bumped and scraped my ute along about 500m of gravel track to park. The car was covered in an inch of dust by the end of the day from all the cars driving around in the carpark, and then got stone chipped by the wankers doing skids on the way out. So I will come, but I won't be in my XR! :pulease:
  5. Mine is the other way around, I had noise whenit was standard, now that its lowered all the leafs touch, infact they are inverted so they are all being pushed upside down. The only problem I had was the U-Bolts on the spring shackle were lose and the springs where sliding together, very dangerous and annoying, had them retightened by Ford to super tight specs
  6. I ran my injectors flat strap till they ran out of juice and ran dangerously lean, made 256 at the wheels (well before 5000rpm too) with all six pouring as much fuel into the cylinders as they possibly can. So its total BS unless there is a mod in the fuel line somewhere to 'bend' the rules.

So I'm not the only one with an LSD that behaves like a single spinner every now an then? Mainly when its cold.

    N/a Edit

Generic are very bad, so bad that Power Torque didn't even offer them to customers, the standard tunes they offer a modified by power torque so they actually work. The Generic ones make you car tun on 4cyl! Custom ones are awesome! I made 241 on 8psi with fat midrange.
  9. I think he is refering to the sound of the drive train and engine when it labours. 6th is too tall and drops the revs into the no go zone. Try taking off in third, you'll hear it. I can make my 5 pseed do it if I try to accelarate from 40kmh in 5th.
  10. I made 241rwkw on 8psi and 256rwkw on 10psi and my car made 195 stock twice, two different dynos two different days.

    Tornado

1827kgs - Bloody fekin heck! Add 80L of fuel and a driver and you got a 2000kg pig! that's without a hard cover!! Lucky that super slick six can punch out some serious torque! Go the utes!
  12. I saw a tennis ball yellow one at Harbour Town at the Gold Coast 2 weeks back. Had big 19's and Harrop 6-piston brakes. Had TV screen in the dash where the passenger airbag would have been. I parked next to it, made my ute look sad :(

    Peoples Thoughts

I got quoted $900 for the 3 piece in 19" !! Talk about variation!
  14. Excellent - I toasted a WRX today, twice, and I got no slip at all on the 1-2 shift and I didn't lose boost, just sank on its leafs and bolted as soon as the clutch came up in second, and by the time I got to 3rd I was watching the bug-eyed monster slowly seap into the horizon! 8psi suits the standard clutch better.
  15. Sounds promising, I wonder how much the T5 will suffer with 250rwkws and one of these clutches?
  16. Bloody oath, I hate it when you spend big dollars and then there is a catch (ie the heavy duty clutch is a pain to use eg.)
  17. That looks like what I am after, only I would have it black.
  18. Looking to trade in? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Work car was being serviced so they through the ST-L at us. Tell you what, I wouldnt waste any money on FOrd or Holdens luxury class, this think was outstanding, faster, more comfortable, better on fuel and had more features and was nearly 10K cheaper. Awesome car, the one we got had a bodykit and wing, looked better than a Calais or Fairmont. Very impressed.
  19. I am a surveyor and I earn $65,000 a year plus a company car and I got that when I was 22, and I have owned my T for over 1 year now. I also have to take out $4000 a year for HECS, so when that puppy is payed off, I'll get another $70 a week back, and my T only costs me $150 a week and I will own it in 4 years. I'll be married in two, own two carrs in four, and be buying my first house with my future wife witn a combined income of over 120K a year, not that hard really, especially when you have a company car so we can buy one brand spanker (Typhoon) between us! that's assuming I never get a pay rise (including my other half), but we will so it only gets easier LOL! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Congratulations. You are doing very well..... I have never met anyone earning that sort of cash that young. I've been around the traps, working since Uni for at least 15year and at present in charge of an IT Dept with 5 employees and I don't even earn that sort of cash now... And as for Overtime... that is very much a thing of the past. No-one in our Firm gets overtime AT ALL.. It is expected..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's the shiat Yoot! I'm 24, G/F is 22, we have nearly finished building our second house, I have my XR6T and the g/f has her relatively new Barina. I work as the Marketing Manager for an IT Vendor and don't have a degree of any sort although industry experience and a good understanding of the realities of business will get you far. Collectively we earn over $100k easily and once this damn house is finished, I'll be playing with my money for a bit.. how u ask? MODS TO THE T! (FINALLY!) Those that take smart, calculated risks get ahead. Simple. At 24 I'm already look at investment portfolios, thinking of Super... heck if I want to retire early then I need to get crackin! Congrats to all the younguns with their T's have fun and play safe! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Houses must be damn cheap in Melbourne then... Can't even sniff at the market in Sydney unless you have 300K to spare.... and 300K is one hell of a BIG morgage.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My office isn't in the city in Brisbane so I am lucky to be able to purchase a new 4 bedroom on 1000sqm for $300K here, although I'd honestly prefer to have somethign 10 years old with pool, established garden and extra features for $270K in some areas within 10mins of the office. As for the GF? We only need one car so she can drive the Typhoon/Liberty GT/SR5 Hilux or whatever takes my fancy to work! I'll stick to my company car. The less I have to borrow the better.
  20. A what?
  21. Why would it be quicker than you’re your edited Ute? From what I read it’s a dead stock with just an edit so nothing fancy and probably is close to being on par with an edited XR6T… Brand new 18” Dunlop sports and the live axle with a hard cover adding weight with a good driver should be able to launch without massive wheel spin, although I can assure you can make it sit there and smoke if you like but I don’t think that was the idea somehow and I doubt you will see the F6 clutch slip until its taken to at least 400~500rwkws. The idea is the F6 doesn’t need a new Gbox and clutch when edited unlike the XR’s which can’t handle the extra kw’s without breaking things. Great Video mate and I suspect we shall see more like it soon? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mine has the hard lid and two steel dividers in the back, weighs 1920kg without the steel dividers and me in it, can can its just next snapping when 10psi comes on, and the phoon only peaks at 9 not maintained all the way like the edit. Still, my clutch slips and its just nuts compared to that, that looks more like my car stock. I will make a vid and show you what I am talking about. As for speed, I have to maintain only 1/2 throttle 1st and 3/4 2nd and hope to hell there are no bumps or its all over for wheel spin. I stomped an LS2 Senator (auto) 10 days ago during the day the second week I had the edit, and he was mightly impressed. I owned it through the gears and was still in front over 100kmh and pulling away, at the next lights he took his hat off to me!
  22. What about a T5 manual ute?
  23. I don't reckon that's any faster than my ute with edit? Maybe even slower, mine just expodes between 3500 and 5500, mostly in wheels spin, and the clutchslips in 3rd. Tornado didn't even spin the wheels? Top video anyway mate.
  24. Or just use the dyno for what its meant for, before and after gains. % gain at the wheels equals percentage gain at the fly, end of story.
  25. Its not that much, my car makes 300 at the fly and it has 241rwkw, the drive train loss is closer to 25%. That would put the F6 at a bit over 270 funny enough. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How do you know it makes 300 at the Fly ?? Had it on an engine Dyno have you <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your a twit. How do you think I know that (I have a calculator!). Look, I made 195rwkw three times on three dynos in the last 12 months, summer and winter, when I got it edited it still made 195 before the edit on that day, then made 256rwkw on 10psi and has done twice more since then, not even 1kw variation. So my car has magically made 61rwkw more all by itself, no engine dyno needed. DO that math. 61 is 25% increase over stock output, so its very safe to assume that the engine is also producing a 25% increae in power (since its connected to those wheels on the dyno after all ). So 240 time 1.25 is 300. End of story, have a nice day. PS - That video looks suspiciously a lot like it was going down hill to me, do the next one with a spirit level on the screen.
