I want to join the T club
Punch Bunny, first of all, welcome to the Forums. In regards to your above comment, I found it hard to test drive a Turbo myself also mainly because no dealer kept them....any turbo that came in was pretty my sold already. I picked up the phone book and called all the dealers that where within my reach and asked if they had a T that I could test drive.....all but one dealer had nothing for me. This would be a good start dude, call them all and see what you come up with. Age should not be an issue to a true sales person, when I bought my car last year I was 23 years old.....the first dealer ship I went to didnt give me the price I wanted, the second one helped me straight away. From personal experiance though, your best off talking to them when your ready to buy.......when I walked into the second dealer, I told the sales person that I didnt want to waste his or my time, that I wanted to buy a car today if the price is right......we sat down, talked, he gave me the price I wanted, I signed the papers, and in 30 mins, I bought myself a new T (and what a GREAT choice it was I must add) Good luck and stay persistant, its WELL worth it

Out of curiosity was it XCUSME or perhaps XCUZME ?? It was XCUZME. I saw him again the other day and noticed that I'd got it wrong. What ......Riced..........LOL, that car is definately no rice.....rice id consider a car that's all show and no go (oh oh and a shopping trolley spoiler massive body kit and underbody neons - fully sik mate LOL).....all this S15 has got from the outside is 19" ROH Shadow Chrome wheels (lowered off course) and a couple stickers on the rear window..........the rest is under the hood . Tis my mates car and I have to admit, that car actually goes pretty hard...........off the line he got my T by about one and a half cars ! PS where did you see it........was it sat night by any chance, and did you notice a Phantom T behind him ??

Power Increase through exhaust upgrade
No Problem at all........ I know there are that many mods and prices to remember.....it's easy for any one of us to make a mistake with a price. By memory the APS full turbo back exhaust is approx $1925 including the high flow 3.5" cat .............That's why I feel it's really good value for money ...........and a really good place to start if you want to build a powerful T. Peter APS Yeah that's a good price for the exhaust, especially one of quality like the APS one. Out of curiosity, is it a 3.5" exhaust or a 3" exhaust ??? Furthermore, can the exhaust be custom made, say for example if I want to fit the exhaust to my car, but I wanted it louder, can you guys to that or does it HAVE to meet the standards ???? Regs Dean

Power Increase through exhaust upgrade
Thanks for those kind words regarding the APS exhaust system. I actually consider the APS full turbo back exhaust is really good value for money when you think of the true expense of the high flow 3.5'' cat and the complete 304 stainless steel tubing and mufflers plus all TIG welded construction. Gee when you compare the APS exhaust system to a lot of the general quality exhaust work that comes out of the exhaust workshop industry (more joints and welds than actual pipe work) I reckon the APS exhaust system represents awesome value and performance, and it's a proven well developed product you can have total faith in, and noise legal to boot. By the way what do you consider to be a bit pricey? Peter APS Hi Peter, To be honest with you I was going by memory with my last post and I was fairly sure I was told about 3000 plus a 700 cat convertor. So I spend an hour today going through my emails and I found that email.......MY BAD it was actually 2500 that I was told for the whole thing. This wasnt a definate price though as I was told that you guys are still finalising pricing. Stupid memory LOL failed me yet once again

Ah bummer, not to worry, ill see if I can somehow record the noise for you

Power Increase through exhaust upgrade
Mate I doubt you will find any exhaust system for the T that's built to the same quality level as the APS exhaust system (all 304 stainless steel inc flanges and hangers) and that is capable of producing up to 600HP and is also noise compliant. You can view this exhaust system at www.airpowersystems.com.au hope you enjoy the browse. Peter APS that's true, your exhausts are sweet, ive seen the pics and they look like good quality exhausts. If I recal correctly though they are a bit pricey ??

Blow Off Valve Installed!
Howdy mate......to answer your question, any venting into the atmosphere is a defect. The advantage with the GFB is that you can set it to 50/50 or even full plum back, but if you are gonna do that, then you may as well stick to the original BOV. Theoretically if it is plummed back it shouldnt be a defect but if your a smart ass to the cops im pretty sure they can defect you for it......perhaps you should ask one of our resident coppers on the forums . Personally, Ive had mine on full atmospheric for a while now and I have never been pulled over....I even had a Ford/Expensive Daewoo talk with a highway patroller (who was driving an SS mind you) and he didnt say anything about the valve when he saw it (I think it all comes down to your attitude toward the police. Treat them with the respect they deserve and they'll treat you with the respect you deserve) Somebody might need to correct me on this one, but if I recal correctly it would be an internal wastegate on the T and I dont think it makes sounds like what your BOV does (could be wrong on this).

I now have a T!
Hi Dsan.......congrats on the new car, I remember when I gave my baby her first squirt......awsome Happy Driving

suspension modifications
what he said I also spoke to whiteline today and was given the same info......basically they will have 2 kits, the control and the flatout kit. The control kit will lower the car around about 35 mm or so whilst the flat out kit will be closer to the 50 mm mark. It is suggested that if you want or have 18" wheels on your car to stick to the control kit as flatout gets a bit to low. Further more the flatout kit you will require other parts such as bump stops etc (therefore more mulla)

Removing the fuel cut
Yep definately worth the read!!!! I've got the mag's at home, I think there's a series of about 8 or 9. They get the power op to around 300rwkw from memory, using a boost box, new plennum chamber, bigger injectors, an air to water intercooler and they remove the centre muffler. I wonder if removing the centre muffler will increase power......im removing mine soon....ive had a couple systems dyno'd and now im going to dyno with no centre muffler, see how it goes. Yeah I recall they did get the power, but they had to try a couple differnent approaches before they succeded

Spies on the Forums
Personally, a forum is all about a mixture of people and ideas. If you start choosing the type of people that can register then the site may as well be closed down. The whole "usefullness" (if the word even exists) of a forum is to get fresh idea and perspectives from people of all walks of life. Anyway, another one of my "typing whilst im asleep posts" im outta here

Blow Off Valve Installed!
Guys, a while back Dr Z posted up this link: http://wiki.mysterymeatgrinder.com/index.p...er_Fundamentals have a read, it goes through how the turbo works and so on......there are many theories on how the BOV works and which is better. End of the day, unless your dragging your car and trying to cut down point something of a second then it prolly wont make much difference whether or not you have an after market one installed. Ive always liked the sound and it was one of those things I decided to add to the car as soon as I signed the papers...........so for me it adds pleasure when driving my car. As far as power is concerned, I didnt dyno my car before and after, it was dyno'd after the filter and valve where fitted, although I doubt it will make much of a difference (if any) on a dyno power run !
