  1. Happy Birthday Cassius!

  2. One guy said that hes done it before to save a bit of coin, but Im worried about the rim sticking out further than the tyre itself given its 10mm less in the width of the tyre. What should the load rating be?
  3. Guys, Have been pricing 4 new boots for my XR6T and there is a vast price difference between the 245 and 235 tyre. Would it matter if I chose the 235/40/18 instead of the stock 245/40/18 in terms of drivability and the way the tyre will sit on the rim. I got the optional 18" wheels (Five Spoke) when I bought my BA XR6T. Your thoughts and experiences would be appreciated. Cheers Clay
  4. I recently had my 75k service and the 2 dealerships I rang to get prices varied. The one located in the Valley quoter $380 and the dealer in Ipswich quoter $462. I asked the Ipswich dealer why was there so much difference and she was surprised that the dealer in the valley was much cheaper, in the end the Ipswich dealer matched the price. Just a word of warning, they try and upsell you ie..your brakes need bleeding cause your fluid is contaminated ($110), your coolent needs replaceing as the glucole content is low ($110) and your handbrake needs to be tightend ($90). My car is just commig up on 6 years old and only done 67k (2003 BA XR6T and yes it doesnt get driven much). I didnt end up doing the stuff they tried to get me to do as I could get these tasks done cheaper elsewhere. I have taken my car to both dealerships in the past and have had no dramas. Good luck with the service.
  5. I have a brand new copy, unopened never installed for sale. Friend bought it for me which Ive paid him back for ($99) and have never got around to playin it as I am addicted to Dungeons and Dragons Online. So its sitting right beside me doing nothing, and doesnt interest me anymore. Open to best offers. You can pickup if you want and I can post it as well. Cheers Clay
  6. Yep have to agree. I also have used the meguires clay bar and quick detailer and the result was excellent. Dont rub too hard and let the clay bar do most of the work. Your arms will get tired but the end result will be all worth it. It glides very easy over the quick detailer and you will feel when you need to spray more on by the resistance it creates. Make sure you also massage the clay bar in regular intervals as you will notice all the contaminents being built up on the clay bar. Highly recommended Cheers Clay
  7. I just purchased the Sport Max in 245/40/18 and as a new tyre they are quieter than the SP9000. Again time will tell if they are any better as they are new. I paid $420 per boot which was the cheapest I could find so bangm001 done well for $380 per boot. In terms of mileage, I got 41500km out of teh SP9000 so am hopeful I will get the somewhere close to that. Also for those looking for a 16" tyre, I got a set of GoodYear Excelence 205/55/16 for our Honda Euro and they are a great tyre. Quiet, good grip and yet to see how they go in the wet. Price wise, the cheapest I could find was $216 per boot. Cheers Clay
  8. When did you purchase the warranty?
  9. Well looks like its a goer. Well you answered the other question for me as well. Was quoted 1265 for a 3 year up to 100k on the speedo for the warranty. As I have only done 40k in three years this should cover it. There is an option for 3y up to 160k on the clock for 1565. Wanted to make sure the costs were pretty much standard accross the board. I assume it is a Ford warranty and not just the local dealers warranty where I am forced to only get it serviced there. Cheers for the quick responses ppl. Clay
  10. Guys, The T is ending its factory warranty and am seriously thinking of extending the warranty. I bought the car new in August 2003 and have just clocked over 40k. When I asked a service staff member at our local ford, they said it covers everything apart from your "general wear and tear" This response didnt realy give me a "warm and fuzzy" feeling so to speak, hence why im asking here to see if any of you T owners have delved into this extended warranty. Also, if you have made warranty claims in this extended period, have ford been comming to the party to fix em. Ta Clay
  11. Thanks guys, When I was getting the errors I had already booked the car in to be looked at. Was interested to see how many others had this problem and what was done to fix it. Regards clay
  12. Hi All, Wanting to know if anyone has experienced a problem with an error on the air bag? Start the car and the cars checklist of flashing lights etc go away. The airbag light located at the botton left of teh dash goes off after its 7 seconds. when starting to drive the airbag light comes on. The sequence: flashes 3 times (on, off, on, off, on, off) at 1 second intervals pauses for two seconds flashes 2 times (on, off, on, off) with 1 second intervals pauses for two seconds then repeats the above process three times then stays on. Rang ford and they said there is a TSB for this error. She said something about two wires touching. Anyone experienced this before. I have leather seats with side airbags and the normal front and passenger setup.

    Fog Lights

Hi all, Have got a price to supply only the right fog light as my busted one came off second best with a stone. Anyway, got a price of $95.95. Before I go get it, is this good or should I be asking for a better price. Also those protectors normally for the territory are 42.50 for the pair. Your feedback would be helpful. Clay
  15. Looks great. Just need towatch out you dont scrap the front on those high gutters. Good work.
  16. You might also want to check the rims to make sure they dont have any scuff or scratch marks on them. I checked mine before delivery and two of them had scratches which were replaced the next day.
  17. Gee that's exactly what I do. My wife thinks Im crazy, but I havnt had one dint yet. So I;m glad taht Im not the only one who does this

    Rear Knock?

you shouldnt have too much dramas, but its something ford should look at to resolve. that is what your warranty is for. just keep us posted on the outcome

    Rear Knock?

There are numerous amounts of posts relating to several noises comming from the back. One which is common, 'Backlash'. This appears to be normal in the explanation of ford. Some have it worse than others. Mine also suffers from this a bit but once you get use to the change of gears, you can hide the noise most of the time. There would be quite a number of members here that do the same and are also experts in this practice. Some have succeeded in getting the diff and other bits changed, but has resulted in a minor improvement or in some cases, worse. You have chosen a great car but as always when doing so, there are some things that arnt quite right. Cheers Clay
  20. great ride you have there. I also love the pics, but I could not help notice that the coolant level looks a bit on the low side in that last pic under the bonnet.
  21. this place is a good start for honda resources. www.ozhonda.com Cheers Clay
  22. I had this done. they had it for two days and I cannot stress enough on the good job they did. My AC sh*t itself and the HIM module needed to be replaced. I was very worried about it when he said they had to rip the dash out. I have got it back and have not had one problem with it. After seeing my car in bits after one day of work the realisation kicked in it wasnt an easy job. But the next morning after droping the curtousy car back I gave the tech who was working on the car a six pack of Hieniken for appreciation of the big job he had to do. Maybe this was encentive that he would do a good job putting it back together, cause I have not had one rattle since I got it back. (Have had it for several months with no rattles.) AC has worked better from factory I think, its like a freezer. I hope that all made sense. Cheers Clay
  23. I like the second one...good work
  24. Ill be waiting with anticipation. No doubt it will look full-on.
