  1. R-SPEC, so we agree, speed makes the effects of driver error worse (in essence it's driver error to be driving faster than capability / conditions allow.) I now attend Hidden Valley regularly and have even more fun as I'm not just going fast, but pushing the car and myself in an appropriate environment. 1:27.5 seconds last run, I think I can get to 1:26 tomorrow, if it isn't too rainy. Pity there are no XR6T's there to play with..........
  2. 5 years of flogging up and down the Stuart Hwy at +200kph didn't kill me. Now I have to do it at 130...It just takes so much longer to get wherever I'm going. Speed in and of itself does not and cannot kill, Indeed in the NT after the removal of the open speed limit, the road toll WENT UP. the vast majority of fatalities occurring here occur: A) in outback communities involving rolled utes full of people traveling in the back (utes Kill! Ban utes!) b) due to Poor driving inside populated areas that were already speed restricted ( Population kills! ban population!) c) due to Drink driving (alcohol kills! ban alcohol) Tabs 100% right. speed may increase the severity of an accident, but in and of itself, it can't cause one.
  3. North Australian Motor Sports Club is holding Round 1 of the 2008 Circuit Racing pointscore series at Hidden Valley on Sunday 2 March. Street cars are welcome in the Lap-Sprint class - CAMS licence and entries etc can be done on Saturday 9am-1pm in the pits at Hidden Valley Come on XR dudes, there's plenty of representation from the general, come and have a go.
  4. swampy and infested with midgies....
  5. Talk to 'em, ask how they intend to repair you car before they commence. If you're not happy with their plans, now's the time to tell them. It's what I did when my missus took out a dingo at 180kph, they wanted to glue my front back together, I said NO, back and forth with the assessor, but new bar in the end, so all's good. (The panel beater actually helped me argue with the assessor, good bloke.)

  10. I suggest the following format (Shamelessly copied from elsewhere....) Your Name: Car Make and Model: Circuit Name: Lap time: Modifications Engine: Power: Suspension: Tyres: Brakes: Body weight:
  11. No, the XR's blew turbos on the highway and boiled brake fluid on the third lap (that's if the little red engine warn light didn't start up because of Oil temp) I think I may be too hard on the brakes.
  12. Well, Raced in the AWD Subaru Vs the rest today... Bucken Subi's won the day, though I was the 3rd fastest @ 127.5 round Hidden Valley. EVO went great till the checkered flag, I put my foot on the brakes...No brakes.... Luckily I'd backed off after I'd gone over the line and had time to pump 'em up. Bluddy cheap mitzi fluid boiled on me (or I could be a tad hard on the middle pedal) Anywas a top day and congrats to the subi guys! P.S didn't see ANY XR6's there! Shame shame!
  13. You Know you're driving an edited ford when there's only one thing on the road that scares the hell out of you....water.

    Job Info!

Foulgoorlie is good fun for 4-5 years, but after that one starts looking for more in life, eg: a woman or social activites (that involve other than drinking at the feddie ect ect) However, this mining boom isn't going to last forever either...so make hay while the sun shines.. your choice, lifestlye or money? Sold my place in Kal a few years ago, made $60,00 on it, but with house prices in Perth being what they are, get ready for a shock....
  17. I think I'll stick to the EVO IX.
  18. Pity, though the car was a stillbirth to begin with. Mitsi have really looked after me and the EVO: 10 yr warranty, no problems! you want to mod it? yes sir, we'll still warranty you. Here's your car cleaned after it's service, just park the loaner over there sir.. Big change from ford...

    Bp Are A Ripoff

Been driving the cruiser to / from work lately and I'd been lazy and fueled up at the BP at Adelaide river a couple of times, 95 octane ect ect. Anyways got got organized and got fuel in town... on the BP 95 octane, I can travel ~ 550 Km on the woolworth's (believe it or not) 95 octane fuel, 680 Km.... are BP selling me that ethanol garbage? it's not marked as such! And at 20c a ltr more expensive too! Guess I'll be less lazy.

  22. Howdy! Yep EVO's still going, spend a lot of time in the shed, I just take it out on w-ends or track-days now. Havent seen Mick for quite a while, but I think he's still here...somewhere... How's qland treating you? Watch out for a legend in a black ute...that'll be TAB.
