March 16, 200422 yr #1 I am currently looking at buying a XR6T I read on another thread about which dealers to buy from and noticed the word fleet discount etc . My question How do I get a discount?? Phil
March 16, 200422 yr #5 Get a fleet You're just not helping ... About as helpful as your post Kent...Anyway, I was going to post something useful. If you do want a fleet discount, you are best working for a large company that buys lots and lots of cars. Such companies are able to negotiate good deals with manufacturers. If you work for the government, you can get them even cheaper through a lease arrangement of some sort, although you will probably have to work in a fairly well-paid or senior position to be offered this.If you are just a private buyer, I don't like your chances of getting the full fleet discount. However, as I have never actually bought a car, I would have no idea... My guess is that it would come down to your negotiating skills. You might be able to do something if you run your own business, as you can probably buy tax-free etc... Best to speak to an accountant about your specific circumstances.
March 16, 200422 yr #6 Hey Phil, Welcome to the mad-house. Ken? Hello! You slipping?Where's the old "what ya wearin" line? And shouldnt we be trying to push him into buying a fleet of HgAg?
March 16, 200422 yr #7 Filartos,I guess I can answer the question. I have a business and run 8 cars for my staff. Anything over 6 cars is counted as Fleet (NRMA), but each dealer will look at things differently. I got about $5k off the sticker price for my car, but only got the XR mats thrown in and several RRP$ options. The best way to find a great deal is buy a car in stock. If you are happy with making a compromise on colour, accessories, etc, you should be able to do a great deal. There are a few dealers who are on the list, but I suggest you call up dealers and ask what they have.
March 16, 200422 yr #8 hi filaretosindividuals can buy thru car brokers and get fleet discounts. Try Fleet Capital, Private Fleet or carbroker.com.au. They each have websites. I ordered mine thru Fleet Capital (if my memory serves me well), got a chunky discount compared to RRP. They delivered the car from Syd to Canb within a matter of days, admittedly if you seek more options then you'll have to wait longer. They generally deliver Aus-wide as far as I know.If u want more info priv msg me for more advice. :o
March 16, 200422 yr #9 One other way is to contract to an organisation in some way. As long as you have them to vouch for the fact that you are working in some sort of capacity for them, it doesn't really matter what type of contracting it is or even if you are doing much at all... if you know what I mean.
