05/03/04 10:09 AM05/03/04 10:09 AM #21 I think Austar AND Fuxtel are total wastes. $65 a month and theres as many-if not more- amount of ads. it totally sh*ts me. you pay $65 for ads! besides, the only time theres something good on is when there is something good on normal TV.

I tend to disagree Glenn,I love Foxtel, think its great! Being able to see every NRL match every week is a big positive for a fan like myself.NO WAY there are more ads on Fox compared to free to air, however I will admit more now compared to when it first started. Is it a luxury? probably, would I live without it, yeah if I needed to, but I don't...eh
05/03/04 10:19 AM05/03/04 10:19 AM #23 I'm tending to agree with ya Glenn, I keep hearing the Bruce Springsteen song nearly every night as we surf Foxtel........"57 channels......and there's nothin on...........".But what really pisses me off is the ads are generally ads for their shows and they bombard you with them, time and time again!!! Secondly their package deals.....sh!t with each package there is heaps of channels we never watch!! What they should do is charge you $X per channel and you have to pick a minimum of Y channels to get connected then you pay for each extra channel you want. I think the execs at Foxtel would be amazed with how many more people would sign up! And if they find a channel has about 0.002% viewing audience then you don't have to be a Rhodes Scholar to figure out that that particular channel is absolutely a waste of air space and ditch it for something more popular!Unfortunately the Packers and Murdochs of this world think they know what's best for us............best for their bank books more like EOR
05/03/04 10:21 AM05/03/04 10:21 AM #24 ever watched fox8? theres SO MANY ads on there, it was the only good channel but now they have taken jerry springer off, it's sucks.
05/03/04 11:55 AM05/03/04 11:55 AM #25 U wanna complain about the Foxtel price ? Go and live in the UK. No free-to-air live soccer (that's their game over there) unless you pay well over 100 big ones a month. Pretty simple, if you don't like it, disconnect it or dont watch it. I love it, and can't wait for my digital to be installed (disclaimer: this ad was not written by FOXTEL)
05/03/04 12:01 PM05/03/04 12:01 PM #26 My brother works for foxtel in the video tape department, he got the digital box last monday, he showed me tonight all the options that it has and let me tell you>>> very impressive cant wait for the league to start. lots of beer and good viewing!!
05/03/04 02:29 PM05/03/04 02:29 PM #27 Oh... so what's the deal anyway with their new digital - apart from getting a cleaner signal? Is it going to be so secure that people won't be able to buy their own gear and magnetic cards and steal the signal? YES...... Not for the first few month's anyway.
05/03/04 11:38 PM05/03/04 11:38 PM #29 Well I've been a loyal client back in the days of "Galaxy" Pay TV (another GOOD service).....Oh don't worry, it will be terminated. You can continue to enjoy your "Hoity Toity" rip off service!!!! See if I give a Sorry 'mods' but that comment really me off! Who do you honestly think you are?The service has gone downhill in a big way. If I have to change to a digital decoder, they can shove it where the sun doesn't shine, only way I'll accept the new service is with a free installation, otherwise BYE!
05/03/04 11:40 PM05/03/04 11:40 PM #30 ESPN is good, heaps of motorsport, and live coverage of Super12's is good as well.I dont like the way that our bill mysteriously creeps up $1 every month or so, and they dont tell us why!
