Gave the car a punch through to 3rd gear and when I got off the pedal my brother was behind me and said a cloud of white smoke came out the exhaust. Is it to much fuel. Or is it to lean or something else I need to worry about. Cheers lads.

First time in a while you've given it the load, or would it be puffing every time?

Did someone say Puff?

Too much fuel makes black smoke. Lean makes no smoke. Burning oil or coolant makes white smoke.

Yeah doing some other reading on other forums. Maybe coolant as it leaks some but cant find it. So probably a stuffed gasket. It still making power and drives really well. If it was a bugged head it would run like sh!t yeah.

Does it use any oil at all? Worn valve guides or valve guide seals can cause your symptoms. Is there any smoke at startup? You'd need to be outside to watch it as it can clear up very quickly.

If you're going through coolant then that could also be the cause of the smoke.

An engine can still run great with serious problems, until they progress to the point of causing drivability issues.

If you think that it's burning coolant, there is a test you can do to find out if there is combustion gasses in the cooling system.

If it is a one off event then don't worry about it until it becomes more of an issue. If you suspect a leaking head then check your oil and coolant daily for contamination.

Coolant is clean. Doesn't burn oil. Can notice some coolant on the ground but I cant find a leak. Going to do a pressure test Monday. No smoke on start up also.

Well you've got a few ideas now mate and one problem you've mentioned with the coolant so let us know how it progresses.

It could be turbski seal related but yeah, it's all just a bunch of stuff that you gotta check ay.
