Theres already a Nissan at the event that's going to hose every Holden, and your XR6 by a country mile, and its only 3 litre

keir.jpg

Before you offer to 'teach it a lesson' or enter into any obscure and unfounded bets, already run 8.84 @ 160mph on street tyres and unleaded fuel

And of course, in the LS1 corner would be the famous, Plan B ute. More than a match I believe for the APS Stage IV little 4 litre.

While the perception here is that the LS1 gang are easy meat for some of the big players in the XR6 came, the reality is far from that. that's why I invite you Peter, come to learn, come to race, but dont expect to win much.

Remember though mate, competition breeds innovation. If nothing else it would be really good to have an industry guy of your calibre there as a drawcard.

Martin what time has this LSI ute run to date or is the ute new and not run any times yet? Looks like some serious rubber under the rear! Still its only a holden! :pinch:

Pete its one of two new 'big' cars debuting at the event. One has a 850hp C5-R LeMans engine, this a Vortech Z Trim blown 346 cuber with around 25psi of boost. Speaking to both owners (who unforunately only have tunes with LS1Edit using the factory PCM) their aim is for something different in the way of times. Ive gone "Whats that fellas?", Theyve said "High 10s without a Unichip and also without 300hp worth of nitrous would be good!"

What makes the pictured 'Plan B' ute one to watch? In previous stock tub, daily driven, and normally aspirated form it ran 11.0 at 125mph, with a factory six speed manual. Try that in a T....also without gas.

YER that's pretty impressive Martin, though I think a completely stock xr6t engine at full factory weight 1775KG including driver ( phase III parts only bolted on) with no gas that runs 10.98 at 124 mph is also some thing special. Bloody good effort those hodens to run a 11 second pass without a unichip though. :pinch:

10.98 @ 124, nice initial acceleration mate, but wheres the power? Crikeys our 350rwkw Monaro ran 127mph. From looking at that times you would reckon the car had massive initial/mid track grunt with a soft hit, but maybe bottle pressure dropped towards the end of the run?

Its not unheard of for some of the big XR6 players to use gas and not admit it. You were the first on to point that out about another 'oft dragged' XR6 last time I was in Melbourne

Reminds me of the early LS1 days from 5 years back. All smoke and mirrors!

Martin that just sounds like a weak excuse, the monaro is a lighter car to start with, I dont think you like that fact that the heavier XR6T with stock engine internals can hose most LSI holdens. :ta:

By the way what time did the monaro run over the 1/4 mile? I doubt that Monaro ran in thr 10;s. In terms of the mph the lighter car will always have an advantage there, and we all know that ambient conditions and head/tail winds will always be a factor that impacts on the mph so to compare the top speeds run on a different day and track is nearly pointless.

As to your suggestion that the C and V xr6t might be on Gas, Con has stated clearly he is more than happy to open up the car at the track prior to running the xr6t completely for all to see that the car/engine is not on gas, cant do better than this to prove the point. :ta:

Martin its really quite simple you know the weight of the car and driver (1775 KG) and the mph so its a easy calculation from there to work out the horse power of the engine at the flywheel. Any way back to the relevant point, the xr6t can and wil hose many LSI holdens it a fact whether you like it or not.:nuts2:

All I say Pete regarding your last fact is 'Prove it at the track'

I think you are very wrong!

Too much TALK and not enough TORQUE here

Still, its cheaper than building fast cars eh?

Prove it well here goes. Fact 1, quickest LSI in Australia is Cand V's Late model camira has run a 10.77 pass. Quickest xr6t in Australia also owned by C and V is 10.98 @124 MPH by memory.

How many LSI powered holdens have run a 10 second pass? Not many if any, other than the Cand V car I would guess. So there is proof that the xr6t is at least much quicker than many LSI powered holdens, and the Expensive Daewoo has been around for 5 years and had plenty of development time, where as the xr6t is only approx 16 months old and we are allready into the tens, FACT. How long did it take to get the LSI Expensive Daewoo Late model camira to do a 10 second pass?:nuts2::ta:
