So, I am getting my ute rig to a point where it resembles that someone that has a clue has owned it... she's been mucked with by some strange "confident" folk.

I did ask the guy I bought it from what this junk was, he didn't know.

I am on a mission at the moment to not have no choice from what source my tuna comes from. Looking into the U-FUZE universal AUX and head unit connection and, as I've read, that plugs into a "floating" plug behind the fuzes. Easy enough. 'Cept, main aint floatin'

It has the pictured plug in it and is, eventually, linking into these two toggle switches... just have NO CLUE what they'd be for...??

You guys have any idea? Maybe it was a common "mod" at one point.

Appreciate it.

Sneaky glove box boost switches

Non-insulated battery positive for that added *cough* spark *cough* in the engine bay :nono:

Sorry mate at the joking - but I'd put one of these on that battery positive loose wires straight away then wrap in insulating tape.

Yeah... This is my idea too. Getting the new gear and then I will just get rid of that crap. Hard to see where the earth goes... I've not really looked yet though.

LoL thought I'd ask the questions :D

I know this is an older thread...... butttttttttt

@REI600 sure the car isn't stolen?

:P

It seems like someone may have tried to use the switches to create a manual immobilizer?

My curiosity has gotten the better of me, is there any possibility of an update?

I know that @REI600 hasn't logged in since November last year.

I am hoping that by tagging him, he will be back.

Nothing flagged up as being stolen when the relavent checks were done so, all I can do is assume that it is legit :D

nice of you to come back and let us know years later... but you didn't find out anything at all?

my next guess would be that one is a kill switch for the ignition...

my next guess after that would be that the other is to allow a dvd headunit to play on the main ICC screen while the car was in motion (and easy to reach in and switch this back to being disabled while the car is in motion when being pulled over).

either way, it's definitely something completely custom :)
