I haven't heard of using zero offset with xr6 tuning on the stock pcm hardware but if there is a reason anyone can tell me then I've learned something new.

Well on a different topic we are getting progress! Still lots to do though. Map tracing is planned and will highlight the map on the left if it is active and I have defined what makes it active. Eg runtime < cold_start_startup and the cell on the right will glow a certain colour. Need to implement my flash read/write routines and logging as well before this will work.

 

Will have a content screen per map as well with maths formulas and a detailed explanation of what it does. So hopefully no more guessing and having to read forums to figure out what tables do what and when they are used. Goal is to have everything explained and what order you should access them. Will also have a community submit button. Eg if the content is wrong, missing etc you can submit your own text, images, examples etc and it will be incorporated into the application.

 

I couldn't get my obd2 plug to cooperate with your app mate.

 

I'm trying to use the one I got with my efi live app from years ago.

 

I could just be being thick about it. Is there a specific driver to use? 

What cable? Only J2534 cables such as open port, VCM2, mongoose will work with it. Open port and mongoose are the only two that have had people testing with though.

 

Edit: efi live probably use a proprietary cable. Unless they specifically state J2534 support (industry standard that all manufacturers must support as of 06) it won't work.

 

Open port is pretty cheap though, about 200 delivered. I've also had less problems with it than the more expensive mongoose and VCM2 cables (about $700 and $1.5k or something crazy) Also don't buy the knock off's, they are slow and buggy. I tried a few different ebay special 25 dollar ones, all of them crash or have timeouts galore. 

 

Good thing about J2534 is you can use it with just about every other piece of software that doesn't try to lock you into buying their hardware (HPT, SCT etc). Lots of toyota, subaru, the official IDS ford software etc all use J2534 cables.

If what Jet said is true about the knock sensors and the injector scaling then they should be outed.
