My Bf Rod Wanted To See Daylight!

Featured Replies

hey guys I raced my bf mk1 at calder lastnight on street tires its got about 360+ rwkw on about 18 pounds

and at around 5000rpm the rod or rods blew out the side holes about 6inc in radius on one side and a fifty cent

piece on the other.....are they common to bust rods I was told they can handle at least 400 450 standard what could

have gone wrong??? does the fg bottom end bolt on to the bf head??

no smart ass comments either please

If it was built before June 06 then it's got the same bottom end as the BAs and you were pushing your luck at 360.

#3

Your not the first to put a rod out the side.

it was built in 12/05 I thought the good motors where built after 6/2005 I guess I was givin the wrong info

still went 13.2 with half a motor at the 600ft mark lol

#7

sh*t go man! But I'm sure it's 06/06 the stronger bottom end

#8

Yep 06/06 is when they got beefed up, but 360 isn't a huggggeeeee ask of it either.

get a fg short motor or get another cheap motor and put a spool rebuild kit through it.
