Hey all. I have always had a wrx, but a growing family has forced me to move to a bigger car. All I can say is... I wish I had a family sooner!! what an amazing car. so much torque, and the 6 speed auto is a cracker!

I had done a little research before buying, and was on the look out for a BF mk11, for the stronger internals, as I have plans to lightly modify it. However, a cheap BF mk1 came up and I jumped on it. Now my question is, im aiming for around 300-330rwk with intercooler, exhaust, injectors and tune. Is this safely achievable with the mk1?

Also, the owners manual states that my car has a traction control button and a esc button. I can find the ESC button to the left of the steering wheel, but cant find the traction control button. or does it only have ESC?

thanks for any help :)

Hi mate welcome and its about time.........lol

I think you should get 300 no problems, Traction Button in located lower left or right cant remember but bottom buttons of the centre console. Press and hold it will then come up on the dash.

Anyway enjoy your stay.

What is the build date of your car?

I'm pretty sure that xr6 turbos built after June 2006 all came with the tougher f6 internals that bf mk2s came with

So you might be in luck there

Mine has the esc button to the left of the steering wheel and that controls both esc and traction

There is one way to find out haha :-)

Traction button is on the bottom left of the centre console if it's the same as the ba. Looks like a tyre spinning and dirt flicking.

thanks for all the replies. It definitely doesnt have the button as your BA does. Mine unfortunately is a may build BF, so pretty sure it doesnt have the good internals :(

I was thinking of taking it to them to give it a once over. As for ESC, it has the button, and the icon matches the ESC icon from the manual, the car with 2 skid lines. No button with the spinning wheel though that the manual states as traction control...

Sorry I was thinking BF FPV which don't have ESC. No reason an XR6T shouldn't.
