Are you mechanically minded? Do you competently know your way around your engine bay?

I take my engine bay to my mechanic.. Technically I'm thinking of him so that means I'm mechanically minded..

Speaking of cakes, just finished digesting mattys christening cake; caramel mud base, with choc vanilla swirl, choc ganache up top all thrown through....... YEAH BUDDY!

might as well discuss cakes, cause old mate is adamant of getting $$$ outta the service guy for his broken cap.

bit like buying a sigma, camira, or TR magna today, and still expecting it to run like the day it was bought. People in the know, know that that chit just aint gonna happen......

How old was the car and how many kms? The older and more kms less chances of arguing the fact, but again reputable tuners and mechanics have said they do get brittle, I wouldn't 'delicately' take my oil cap off thinking it could break and fall in. I think that it's just bad luck unfortunately and as mentioned should try see if mechanic will give you an allow cap at cost or thereabouts and no one is really at a loss

I am learning. I am a in final year of commerce/law and just started with a solicitor firm. However, never sh*t where u work, so not asking any questions.

As for the car, it's a ba xr6 turbo, 110,000kms and the cap was less than 3 years old. Live in the eastern suburbs of sydney and drive to parramatta every evening for uni. Just stop start there, cruise back. No heavy foot on the accelerator, just on the clutch.

As for your comment, no need for you to be sarcastic. I also own a testarossa (inherited through my father) and it's a 1985 model with 600miles. I am a car enthusiast. I know a lot more than some people out there when it comes to cars.

HOWEVER, the point I had was; where is the line where the consumer isn't liable? Legally speaking, if you are employed to do a service, you are liable. Their contract of service doesn't state anything about breakage.

sh*t happens we get over it and move on..

As for me, I asked a question and was open for positive feed back. If you have nothing positive to say like your friend did earlier, then do not comment. It's quite simple.

FYI, for someone to be the 'one of the most experienced ford mechanic in the country', you should: 1) prove it, 2) see if the person cares who is the best or not (and if they do, refer to part 1) )
