Hey all, Im looking at a FG Xr6T that's for sale. It has been tuned with with the SCT tuner, has upgraded injectors and intercooler piping.

Just curious, if I buy the car and decide to buy the stepped cooler and do a turbo side intake. Is it as simple as a workshop doing a retune on the dyno? Or is it a bigger process?

Just tossing up whether to buy stock or one that's half way there,

Cheers!

If its the same tuner then it's just a tune.

New tuner will start again.

The car is from QLD, and im in Melb. So it will be a new tuner.

So it will be a retune using the existing box? but just starting again. Or will I need to get a new SCT flasher?

Agree with Paulie - although the hardware maybe there , the guarantee and saving will only come , once you / tuner are confident that the pits work and have been put together well and with the same attention as you and your tuner would expect had you supplied and fitted the hardware .

If possible , can it checked out - escpecially if you have been asked to pay a premium for the performance gear . If you're not, then the gear could be a bonus is retained , or it ending up be a cost , having to bring the car back to platform that your tuner is happy with.

In my opinion , it's all in the price and what you have the opportunity to have the car checked properly .

Thanks everyone for the replies!

The car isn't anymore expensive because of the mods! So they're just a bonus!

As I wasn't aware of the tuning process I thought I may have even able to add a few things and just 'update' the tune!

But looks like I'll save my pennies, buy the additional hardware and new tune/dyno at the same time. Best option yeah?
