13/01/04 12:00 PM13/01/04 12:00 PM #1 Cruising back from work at Hurstville on the M5 and the traffic slows just near the 2nd last ramp before the Liverpool Toll Station due to an accident. Its 10:30pm and raining so all the space cadets are out driving badly, well upon reaching the accident site it turns out that it was a Foolly SiK Bro accident with a Rex that had come down the off ramp into oncoming traffic on the M5 Motorway, now of course that might not have happened and the Rex might have been spinning widely out of control and somehow turned around so that it was facing down the ramp and then hit the other car front on.... anyway it looked like the drivers were ok, the traffic was crap and the accident well apart from Foolly Sick just plain wrong.Anyone else got any interesing car related accidents to share with the crowd?GJ

If I had been on my own would have gone to about 150 but honestly this moron was way over the line! Now she's feeding me Chunky Soup through a straw.........B!TCH!!

13/01/04 11:03 PM13/01/04 11:03 PM #6 During the Summernats on the weekend just past I saw a not quite 'fully sick' VL (had the chrome wheels but not the outrageous body kit) come hurtling out of a side street onto Northbourne Ave, looks like he was trying to 'drift'. He drifted allright, 180 degrees straight into the gutter! The upside (for him, not for me!) is he managed to drive away so the damage wasn't too bad.A had a stupid accident I had when I was young (and stupid). In Year 12 at school Iwas driving the old man's Subaru 4x4 wagon and I came down to the Motor Tech class one day and thought I would impress all the the lads by doing a skid on the wet grass. Impressed them big time when I locked it up and slid straight into a gum tree and smashed all the front of the car! Impressed the oldies too when I showed them the damage! The car was still driveable but the bullbar had buckled all the chassis rails where it had been mounted and was now dangling at a 45 degree angle.
14/01/04 01:31 AM14/01/04 01:31 AM #7 Durning my Navy Apprentice days at HMAS Nirimba, out there at Quakers Hill, we used yo play "Chase the hare" on the air strip (Nirimba used to be a RAAF base duriing WWII). So there we were in my mates 'fully sick' Hillman Hunter....... hot on the tail of this happless hare when it does a sharp swerve to the left on the grass right next to the tarmac.... car on hard left lock drifts onto the tarmac, tyres say......."Oh goody something to grab onto......." car slowly (well seemed like it!!) tilts over onto left side, funny thing was my mate put his arm out the window to stop the car rolling over!!! :o (his exact words!!) Yeah, fractured arm, broken wrist and dislocated thumb and finger and skin removed from various areas.......lucky b@stard got out of PT, Morning Parade and work detail for weeks!!!
14/01/04 04:41 AM14/01/04 04:41 AM #8 Saw a hit and run today.Going down this road with a few roundabouts, the honda civic next to me hit the back of a Nimbus or some other SUV. The Nimbus driver turned left into the shopping center and stopped, whilst the civic driver kept going straight with a smile on his face.Called 000 and I followed the civic who knew I was following him as he went around in circles, parked where he thought he was safe then took off when he saw me. Gave police the rego and make of car, I didn't see the rego of the Nimbus sadly... I went back around to the shopping center to look for hte Nimbus but couldn't find it once I was sick of following the civic. Police came to my work to get some more details and said they can't do anything unless the Nimbus driver reports it.Either way, the Civic's front end is damaged bad, bonnet is bent and has at least a couple of grand to fix, the Nimbus' back bumper is damaged a bit, couple of hundred bucks.Still if it happened to me I'd be following the bas*ard till either him or I was out of fuel or had police pulling both of us over...If Plonky can do a rego check on the Civic to see if there is any outstanding stuff, I still remember the plate..Makes me angry that there are dickheads like this in this world...
14/01/04 09:39 AM14/01/04 09:39 AM #10 Well, I didn't see how this accident happened, but on Gunghalin drive, just past Kosiosko ave traffic lights (closest intersection to mitchell) someone had a head on with an 80km sign. From the skid marks I saw, the driver came out of Kosiosko (60km/h limit) quickly, turned right on Gungahlin drive to go down mitchell way then lost the back end (can basically see 3 skid marks, so maybe hit the gutter and sign at about 30 degress or something) and smashed into the speed limit sign on the right side of the road maybe 15-20 from the traffic lights. Lucky bas*ard missed a light pole by maybe 3-5 metres.
