I Think I Broke It! Help!

So I was happily minding my own skids today cruising at 15psi when my car stuttered funny and then BANG! cooler pipe blows off. I pulled over immediately and put it back on and checked for any other leaks or anything. Now the car wont make any more than 10psi and only comes on very slowly and wont flutter like it was before, leading me to believe ive killed my turbo.

Could you guys think if it could be anything else?

Also if it IS my turbo what would be the best to get? Price wise and power wise?

I have an SCT Xcal3 from Heinrich's and would like a turbo that wont need a retune (stock only then?)

Ive been looking at possibly a GT42? (if so what housing sizes?) and would this require a full retune or just a re-flash?

Any help would be awesome! It was fun while it lasted..... for under 24hrs >_<

Daimo

p.s and just to further my story I just took off the inlet and wriggled the shaft (of the turbo) and it had very little play (well under 1mm) :\ Any other ideas?

boost leak u reckon? Ive checked all the lines that I can see.... any that are particularly sh*t/hard to get to that I have missed (quiet likely)

could the actuator be stuck open? also my mate said that the bang and sudden force is sometimes enough to dislodge the honeycomb in the cat causing to block the exhaust?

just go the gt42, no retune required and it's almost a straight swap

also disconnect the line to your actuator to test if it is faulty

Just disconnect the vac line to the actuator? how can I tell if its faulty? I will check all the IC piping thoroughly and hope that its split somewhere. Would it throw a fault code detectable on the SCT if this is the case? Coz the SCT says "unable to read DCT's" :\

Check for boost leaks. As already said. Even check around inlet manifold gasket. Report back.

Also, is your inlet manifold painted black?

yep, disconnect the vac line to the actuator and watch your boost gauge
