14/04/13 10:38 PM14/04/13 10:38 PM #1 The more I read on here, the more I seem to think im being too soft on my car. Even when I talk to mates they say the same thing to me, "stop being a girl and go to redline". I hate pushing mine past 5500, I think I have gone to 6k once, in first cause it broke loose. Who else thinks like this? Im just scared im gunna blow the thing up haha Edited 14/04/13 10:40 PM14/04/13 10:40 PM by MA91CK
14/04/13 10:41 PM14/04/13 10:41 PM #2 U dont need to rev these motors Short shift and feel the torque do the work P.s yes u are a pussy Cheers
14/04/13 10:44 PM14/04/13 10:44 PM #3 Personally I don't see the point, as most cars (lightly modded) aren't making anymore power over 5500. And besides it reduces the possibility of oil pump failure (if not bouncing off the limiter). However in my particular car I have the soft cut set to 6350rpm and hard cut at 6400. Cheers Edited 14/04/13 10:46 PM14/04/13 10:46 PM by Impellor
14/04/13 10:50 PM14/04/13 10:50 PM #4 Author Jet that's pretty much what I think too. I have a mild tune, but still makes 750nm of torque, at about 2950. not everyone can have 10 sec F6 to thrash mate I think I might ask for a soft cut when it gets the retune aswell impellor, just incase
14/04/13 11:32 PM14/04/13 11:32 PM #5 If the motor is going to blow up 500-1000 rpm is going to make much difference my auto ute once tuned used to go over 6000rpm all the time when flooring it around town
14/04/13 11:35 PM14/04/13 11:35 PM #6 500-1000 mightn't make much difference but hitting limiter vs. not hitting limiter is a pretty sure bet that one is safer.
15/04/13 07:37 AM15/04/13 07:37 AM #7 hahahah mate you sound like me ive owned my car for over a year now and only seen 6k a few times I can easily double the speed limit on 3k anyways so thheres no need to rev the shi7 out of it in my opinion

15/04/13 08:37 AM15/04/13 08:37 AM #9 What's so bad about taking it to the limiter?If it was harmfull shouldn't it be lower? Edited 15/04/13 08:38 AM15/04/13 08:38 AM by LAZY6
