Know the feeling rapt... We have my car booked in next Tuesday

I have a full A4 page of notes !

I have symptoms, a list of failure modes that do NOT generate fault codes and some instructions on what NOT to do...

It's not going to be the usual "driveway service" - we're going to park the car, and sit down with their chief technician, senior service advisor and the head of the service department and go through the list line by line...

Car will be off the road for some time we have been told :smilielol: - here's hoping they get it right !

Another dealership workshop staffed by self appointed genius's. How could a higher volume flowing filter restrict your airflow. Did you shake your head and crack up laughing at their stupidity :nuts2:

Is that with or without the rapping on it??

They could have at least given u a reason.

Maybe they dont know what a K&N air filter is.

Just a thought!

tur, Would be worth while to get the car to a good work shop and dyno test the car to see if the full throttle power is in the the expected power range, its amazing what can be diagnosed by a experienced tuner with the right tools and knowledge.

Would give you some peace of mind. If you want your car checked by a competent tuner let me know where you reside and I will get you contact details of a tuner who can assist you.

Tur I know its a bit of a drive though it would be worth a talk with Mark at Dynamotive in Bayswater ph 97626500. He is a very competent tuner and would be happy to assist you.

Should a competent dealer be able to determine intermitent turbo boost problems (ie sticking swing valves etc, etc) purely from their computer diagnostic and error logging tools?

Can they tell if the T is achieving the 6PSI when it should?

Nearly a year on and mine often feels "flat" these days and I can't ever recall hearing any turbo whistle or blow-off valve noises like others here mention from time to time. Perhaps I'm just getting too used to the 320+bhp that I could only have dreamed of a few years ago - I'm almost hoping that there is something wrong with it :(

a few months back I had the opportunity to drive my brothers C32 AMG merc for a month (lucky B*gg*r) and that always felt sharp and never disappointed when the loud pedal was pressed.
