When Will I Need A Dump?

Quick one lads, will I need a dump around the 320rwkw mark?

Im budgeting a high-flow cat, just need to know if a dump is required at this power level?

Stock dumps on fg series need to be up graded after 350 not before

But isn't there benefit to be had from a dump?

You can make more power than without it at less boost and there's a gain to be had in the mid range power.

This is something I'm considering at the moment aswell and most seem to get to 300-310 with just cat but those with dump seem to be making 310+

If anyone has facts and figures to prove me wrong go ahead

Was that on a B series or FG turbo? How much boost? What was the time?

I'm not saying its not possible to max the turbo without a dump but is there no gain to be had with a dump and cat? Surely you'd need less boost and the power delivery would be different/better?

Im definitely not saying you're wrong J@, I just want to get to the bottom of whether there is gain to be had from a dump on the small turbo

Mate theres gains from taking a spew before u go racing but do u need to do it ?

Look the car went 11.3 and was making 400rwkw

Bf2 f6 and about 19psi on e85

The dump is one of the last items to spend coin but that's just my method

Maximum bang for buck and yes the bf2 dump is 3.25 inch ( from memory ) same as fg
