Inspected an xr6 and picked it up a day later.

I think something suspicious may have happened as the rear end seems to kick out a little more than expected (not sure if is from aftermarket springs + roads or not).

Just wondering if all xr6's had a red rocker/engine cover? Because it was sold as a BA xr6 Mk2. The rocker cover on this car is not painted so I'm wondering if I have been had, it definitely seems like there is something wrong with the car. We shall see.

Sounds like you bought someones na turbo project. the higher comp would explain why it kicks out so easily.

Good luck mate hope it lasts.

I may have written the original post a bit incorrectly.

It is an NA and does not have a red cover.

Hence it is an NA engine.

Nonetheless the car seems quite different to the test drive. Thanks for the info guys.

Your question has basically been answered, after au's only turbo engines have red rocker covers.

Ba xr6 n/a's just have a cab engine like any other falcon.

Sorry, just realised what area this thread is in. Sometimes I get a bit of tunnel vision this being a turbo forum and all.
