July 12, 201313 yr #131 Author They couldn't get the old one off without risking snapping it. So I said leave it on the the old bonnet (I'm keeping the old one anyway). Gunna go chrome looks better with the g6e front Currently searching Canberra for xr8 bonnet insulation. No luck as of yet Sent from my GT-I9505 using Motorculture mobile app
July 12, 201313 yr #132 That explains everything. No not worth snapping it.Tried a auto wreckers, you just never know.
July 12, 201313 yr #133 Author Tried eveywhere today. Gunna try some wreckers on Monday (not driving much this weekend anyway because I have work) so should be safe until then otherwise Ford quoted me 220 for a new one... plus 75 for the clips to attach it....f***in rip off.
July 12, 201313 yr #135 Have you tried these guys?http://stores.ebay.com.au/mrcarparts59fallonstbrunswickI'll be in there next week picking up a bonnet if you can wait?
July 12, 201313 yr #137 Just buy the insulation and use the clips from the original bonnet, save yourself $75. I got my chrome strip off my original bonnet no worries at all didnt snap it, it just clips in.
July 12, 201313 yr #138 Author Is there any reason I cant just use the insulation from my old bonnet? I was told under the bonnet its a different shape, but I had a look last night and it looks pretty similar to me...I get my bonnet back next week (needing dads van to pick it up) so I'll take a definate look next week, but I'm 80% sure it should fit straight on...
