I have a set of 20" rims on my ba falcon, tyres are 245/30/20 now the problem I have is the rear tyres are wearing out quick and weirdly! The inside of the tyre have scratches in the tread. The 18" rims I removed from the car had the same problem there was wire exposed on the rear two tyres but only half the tyres had the wiring and scratches! I have had a wheel aligment and still have this problem!

What could cause this?

Bad wheel alignment? Or scrubbing.. If your rim width doesn't match the offset?

I will have a look at the rim today and post up the measurements! I had the problem with the stock rims so I got a wheel aligment and put brand new 20"s on only to have the same problem.

Could it be rose joints-bushes?

A mate said something about them.

They come out with to much negative camber from the factory, that's why the inner parts of your wheels are wearing quicker then the outer.

Been doing skids on rough surfaces or gravel? That'll scratch/tear tyres apart if that's what you mean by scratching??

The wear on inside only is definitely due to bad wheel alignment/stuffed bushes (too much neg camber, happens heaps)

2005 ba nah no skids!

Would busted rose bushes cause it? Or a diff bush?

Might get another wheel aligment and see how it goes

Bushes. They're too soft. They'll do it forever even with the best wheel alignment in the world as long as the stock bushes are in there.
