For a couple of grand more, you could find a better FG, if not, keep shopping around.

I drove this car myself, a black one with 95K on it, it did drive nice but the paint was very bad, definitely a fleet/hire car that's been through a old style car wash twice a week, Ive been looking a coupe of weeks now myself and I agree with most, hang in there and wait for the right car to come along, II think I will go to Victoria to get one myself and drive it back, generally less money over there as there are more around, good luck in your search !

Yeah I generally agree with the consensus - either pay a little more and get a better FG, or find a better BF deal as 22k is overpriced. 16-18k will easily get you into a good BF and I reckon that's preferable to high 20s for FG.

Best of luck, at the end of the day they are all great cars.

that's like 1000kms a week, bet service history is no good, would be easy to miss a few doing those km's.

Id give it a miss.

that's probably more like only 400-500kms a week, pending how old it is.

I think a lot of people overlook cars with high kms, but its not the way to pick a car.

Most of the cars ive bought over the years, have had near double the kms of a lot of the cars ive looked at, but have been in better condition and drove better.

an example is our old ba xr6 turbo, 180,000kms and better then 90% with less then half the kms. another is our 2010 fg xr6 turbo it has around 80,000kms and s in way better then condition then most out there.

high kms are easy to see, anyone can check the speedo, and see the few extra stone chips, but smash repairs, accident damage, and mechanical conditon and the like are a little harder, ive seen a lot of guys buy "good low km cars" and end up with low km cars are sh*t boxes, that have had poor repairs, accident repairs and so on.

never buy a car based on kms only.

Maybe they end up with low km because they are broken all the time and don't get driven, hahaha. Never thought of that.

I bought an ex police fleet FG XR6 Turbo nearly a year ago now. Had 62000 on the clock at the time I got it and there were only a couple of easy fix issues.

- Additional battery bracket welded in the boot

- Left fog light housing cracked

- Minor marks on dash facia

The only other thing is that it had a fair bit of dirt in the engine bay which looked like it was from water that had just dried up. A year down now and the car has just ticked over 900000 and going strong. It's not stock anymore but have had no dramas at all with it. I have had lowered springs and shocks put in which make it sit very nicely. My old man has the same spring/shock set up in his FG F6 which is not quite 60000k old and they ride the same.

that's just my experience with FG's but the best thing would be to drive it.

If you are able to, then it is definately worth waiting for a good FG to come around. Otherwise, find a better deal on a BF.
