  1. Happy Birthday TotallyHaggard!

  2. I was actually going to recommend soldering the wires back in, mine had come loose at some point but that being said I am a bit of a hack and may have damaged the plastic holding the wire in.
  3. Okay so finished it, and yes there is a difference, I think you will find there is less bass in the back seat but deeper bass in the front... Suits me fine and for a free 5 min mod, I am happy. Anyone saying it does "nothing" must be deaf because it is blatantly better, however still not awesome! Will be changing the amp and sub down the track though.
  4. Going to give this a shot over the weekend.... for the sake of 10 minutes it's worth a shot! Definately be replacing the sub and amp down the track though.
  5. If you are able to, then it is definately worth waiting for a good FG to come around. Otherwise, find a better deal on a BF.
  6. BF2 if that is the money your looking at... If your budget can stretch to $30k then look at FGs. That is alot of km's for a '09 model FG.... My bet is that it is an ex-rental.
  7. I've been off crook so haven't visited the forum in a while. Sorry Clutz but I would never put those wheels on my car. I was after more of a subtle look, something that isn't stock, but doesn't give the look at me, look at me impression that 90% of cars have here in Canberra with chrome dinner plates. And as CBXRT said, those wheels really do scream boy racer to me. But just as you said, would be a boring world if we were all the same mate so cheers for the opinion. I agree with you that Lensos normally look pretty average in person compared to the catalogue, but in this case I think it is exactly the opposite, look a hell of a lot better in person than that ridiculous catalogue picture, the colour wasn't even the same! *FAIL* I will take some better photos once it is lowered.
  8. Yeah for sure mate, I am throwing up whether to go SSSL's all round or only in the rear, or only SSL's.... big decision. I noticed that most people are going with SSL fronts and SSSL rears. Does anyone know if SSSL's all round would give a flatter look? I need to look into it more. I will tint as well, but that will have to wait for more funds to come through my account. I will post up the result of whatever I choose.
  9. Would be interested to know how it is too, I am looking to do this when I get more cashflow. Looks good mate.
  10. Hey All, Decided to go with the "black" which is actually more of a charcoal to me, but thought I'd pop a pic up for you guys. Apologies for the quality, was taken off my phone and Canberra weather is rubbish. Will be lowering shortly, so the next decision to make is which springs to go with.
  11. Looking to lower in the next couple of weeks, just got to decide how low now.... to go SSSL's all round or not... hmmmm
  12. Must have very different taste, I think they look great! Is that the black though, doesn't look nearly as dark as the picture they show. I do like, but that car NEEDS to be lowered! I also like the factory 19's, but I'm not paying the money they want for them to just look like majority of other G6's... And for $1800 with Kumho's, I think the Lensos are a great buy. Cheers for the opinions.
  13. Hey all, I am getting a set of Lenso ES8's tomorrow and have to decide on the colour I will go with, figured I would see what you guys think. Can either go with the Silver and keep it looking pretty subtle, or they come in black as well. My car is black with the Cashmere interior, but my thoughts were that it might be too much black.... but hard to say without seeing them on the car, so see what you fellas think. Cheers, Nick
  14. Sexy! I want its number please?
  15. I dont think there would be much, if any difference between a panel or pod so long as it's enclosed.
  16. I'm with Tab, using this thread to compare a G6ET to an M3 is a bit of a douchy move mate, especially as Longy is showing off his new (and awesome) car. @Longy - These things are a great car and you've done bloody well to own a G6ET at 22 mate.
  17. Awesome buy, well done mate! Im also on the young side and loving the car, although you do seem get some interesting looks from people... probably assuming I'm driving Daddies car!
  18. In that case I recon the F6E front end would look better
  19. The darker grille and stuff would make it look better, but IMHO I dont think it will ever look quite right due to the wheels. I just dont think Dark Argents look right on a G6E, too sporty for a luxury car. Just my opinion though.
  20. +1 for the KU31's. Haven't tried the Toyo t1r's though.
  21. Thanks for the info. Unfortunatly I still have the standard dunlops but I am getting new wheels soon and have been trying to decide between these and the KU31's for them.
  22. Thanks for all the replies, I really should have mentioned that it's a G6ET and isn't for performance and I'm actually fine with the way it handles now anyway. From what I understand the FG's have so much travel as it is that I wont actually lose much comfort. It wont be taken on a track or anything either, ATM it is simply a cruiser and I dont think it will actually be AS low as some think but the look I am going for is very similiar to the Herrod G6ET. What do you think they are using because IMO it looks far lower that coilovers will go. @Dre - The pedders do look pretty good, looks like another 10 or 15mm on the teins? Very nice! Seeing as I wont be taking the G6ET on a track any day soon I dont really see the value in going with coilovers though... $2k vs. $300 Or are coilovers really worth the extra cash on a cruiser? I will send the forum sponser a message shortly as well. Cheers everyone, big help!
  23. I am pretty much looking to fill out the guards, possibly tucking some of the tyre but not looking to tuck rim... I was actually more concerned with using SSSL's in the front as it's something I haven't seen on here before. EDIT: I didn't think the Teins went that low? may be wrong about that, but am hoping to do it on a budget and then replace shocks if I have any issues.
  24. Hey Guys, It's time for me to lower the car and thought I'd run my rough plans past you, I am a little stuck on the decision of which springs to run as the SSL is a touch higher than I would like. Has anyone tried running SSSL springs all round on an FG? The SSL front SSSL rear is really popular but I couldn't find any pics running all SSSL's. I will be putting 20's on the car shortly and dont want too muck around too much trying to make them fit nicely. I will be using a staggered set with 20x8.5 front and 20x9.5 rear and they come in an offset between +15 and +45 so I should be fine in that regard. any opinions please?? or if anyone is running something similar please shoot me a pic. Cheers
  25. Does it only make the thud noise once after starting the car and driving? I remember reading somewhere that FG's make a small thud noise and it was something engaging in the driveline or something... I just cant remember the details plus I'm at work so dont have the time to look it up. Mine makes a small thud noise that happens about 10 meters out of the driveway, so probably in line with the first change to 2nd. But I think I am just used to it and dont notice anymore.
