I wouldn't recommend calling girls "shielas". The word is very rarely used these days and you'd sound like an idiot trying to speek with an aussie accent if you used it.

Make sure you give plenty of compliments like "Aussie girls are so nice", etc, etc. Combine that with your American accent and you'll be set!

One tip for that...if you want to come to Oz, book the ticket from this end. That was one thing I noticed about the US in how expensive it is for you guys to fly over here, but it's dirt cheap for us. I can get over there for about A$1600 (US$1100) with some accommodation inclusions. I dare say it's because the US is a big market for us, but AU is a small market for you guys. Same as phone calls between AU & US. Dirt cheap to make a call from here, dear as poison from over there.

As for guaranteeing you some Aussie girls, hang a piece of Greenback from your fly. That should help. And all your money is the same colour unlike ours so you could get away with a US $5 bill, if you wanted :lol:
