I've read a couple more reviews knocking the Symbian o/s this morning and it has me second guessing, but I think I can live with it as I've been using a Spb Mobile shell on a Omnia for the last few years and it cant be any worse....

I dont like the silly big blocks the Mozart has on the home screen they look bland, amateurish and out of date to me I'm not sure I could put up with them.

You can order pizza via an app with the iPhone.

Yeah I've seen that, only one problem with that though....delivery to BM $50.00 and will be there in 2 hours...

Only put the iPhone in there as I knew I'd get cained if it was left out.

If browsing the web and playing games on the phone isn't one of your priorities I'd recommend a button phone.

I'm on my first touch screen and while it's awesome (HTC Desire) for regular things, calls & messaging buttons are still the best.

And yeah if you don't mind paying a little extra Telstra sh*ts all over the others in reception and speed, I haven't seen the dreadful "Connection Error" since I left optus 6 months ago. Telstra has Australian call centres (most of the time) but are still pretty useless...

Just been turned off the N8 completely I think....

- unless the Ovi store wouldn’t let you in. Here’s a point-form summary of the 40 minutes I spent fighting with the N8 before I gave up;

- Tap Top Apps widget, select Home Grown, choose The Age

- “You need to install the Ovi Store the first time”

- “Opening a secure connection continue?”

- Click on download

- Opening

- Installing - green bar stuck on 100% for a while, then it loads

If you travel outside the city metro or large regional area. You will need Telstra. Try going out west in NSW or QLD without Telstra.

Optus are laying bucket loads of cable now. But only in areas where it will make money. And where Telstra says it has enough space in the exchange to give optus some room to put in the tech gear.

Nokia are making absolutely crap phones now. My N93 gave me nothing but grief. My 6710 navigator is on the bottom of Noosa river it was that bad. The worst phone I have ever owned. I am using a nokia I bought like over ten years ago and it still works fine. $1200 in new nokia's in the last twelve months and will never go near them again. You send them in for warrenty and the dickheads dont even open them up. They just send them back. I know because I taped over where the battery connects to make sure I ewither got a new phone or they did replace the guts of the one I sent in. THEY DID NOTHING. It was still there when I got it back. Nokia is getting back to me about that. Yeh right.

If you want a phone that is a phone and has a decent camera HTC

The Nokia says 12mega pixel. You will find when you take them and down load them that most range between 3 to 5 mega pixel. Nokia had the shoite kicked out of it in the GFC as did most scandinavian companies.

I have owned nothing but Nokia's and was very loyal too them. But now they are crap. The service is crap. And the phones are crap.

HTC for the phone and a decent laptop that you can plug into your car. Freeekin Ipads, Iphones. Do yourself a favour and dont buy a smart phone. Get a decent cheap one and a laptop. if you have a laptop already then you have a shoite load of change for some good drugs.

You cant really go past Telstra, I have used pretty much everyone and ended up back at Telstra.

I used to be a huge Nokia fanboy, until I had the N97, after that phone I will never get a nokia again.

I have 2 different phones for 2 different jobs... an iphone and a Blackberry Bold 9700 (best phone ever)

My iphone I deliberately thrash as I hate that stupid phone! I charge both phones at the same time and at the end of each day the iphone needs charging whereas the blackberry will happily go all week without problems.

the best phone out at the moment is the Samsung Galaxy S running Android, it is the smoothest fastest thing I have ever used and will be upgrading to it shortly.

did anyone hear that iphone can now do video chat? I thank you apple for providing a service that my f'ing nokia did 5 years ago, oh I also thank you for the daily charging I need to do on a phone that is rated for only 300 charge cycles.

actually I think there is a new Sony out that looks ridiculously small, havent looked into yet though

Definitely Telstra, and if you've got an ABN go for one of the business plans. Mine is $80 per month with $80 included calls (with a stupidly low rate on mobiles and $0.20 untimed fixed line) and 600mb data or something.

With Optus I pay $59 a month for:

- $700 worth of call.

- Unlimited free SMS and MMS.

- 2GB data.

- Free access to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, eBay, LinkedIn and foursquare within Australia.

The excellent value is the only reason I'm with them.

Adam, that the same one that is free Optus<->Optus?

I'm on the next one down. Might end up switching away from Optus to Telstra though because I've got near zero coverage (unless I want to walk all the way up the back side of the property) with Optus out on our 500 acre property.

Also hoping that an omnidirectional antenna on a 10m mast (no line of sight so directional won't work) will sort out a NextG internet connection come the installation this Saturday otherwise its a choice between not having it at all or going with 2-way sat.

Don't think so. I'm pretty sure I get charged for all calls, but I think I'm pretty safe with $700 to blow just on calls.

The Iphone will most likely do what you want, but are fragile if dropped as they are glass.

I'm on my second iPhone (upgraded), I've dropped mine more times than I can count, most of my mates have em and they drop theirs too, not one of them have cracked a screen

Yea you can, through wifi, you have to have wifi and the person you are vid chattin to has to aswell, therefore being free..

My battery can last about 3-4 days before needing a charge, depending on how many games I play, but yea the batteries aren't that flash..

You either love or hate iPhones.. I wouldn't get anything else, might consider that galaxy thing I played around with that and it's pretty cool..
