I've been reading up on the law in regards to this somewhat and what differentiates a street race from "undue noise/excessive speed etc" is the drivers post/pre agreement/arrangment to race. Ususally this is a chat at lights with the windows down or excessive revving at lights. I'm not sure of the proof they would need to impose any charges/convictions, but unless there's evidence that it was infact a "race" you should be okay.

Point of story: Don't agree to race any randoms you don't know. At the most, look over to check the car out for a second, look back, don't stall it up/rev it excessively, and don't go over the speed limit. :crybaby:

Maybe in South Aus, but the other States have there own specific street racing legislation. I do wish him luck with it. One thing to read up on it and always another to apply its true interpretation.

In suburbia of Melbourne I have seen some Expensive Daewoo Astras as undercover cars a couple of times now.

Only pick them on Friday nights, usually tucked away along Princess HWY.

Was followed by, then followed an FG XR6T ute yesterday arvo on Kelvin Grove Rd, with strategically placed LED arrays front and back. Had a "Special Edition" sticker on the tailgate under the TURBO badge, I had to LOL. He was giving it a bit of stick through the traffic, sounded good. Must've been one of those special modded police falcons...

My main gripe about unmarked cars ducking and weaving through traffic at speed is that they probably give a bad perception about all falcon drivers being hoons. I'm sure despite the grin on the drivers face they had important stuff to do though and weren't just enjoying the boost.

my mate, who drives a rx7, was driving a few days ago and he stoped at a red light to find himself side by side with a WRX, and u could see and hear he had a few mods done. The wrx was revving his engine looking like he wanted to race and this guy never backs done so he took him on, got a good lead at the start till 100m later, I think u can figure out the rest haha the WRX pulls his window down, chucks the siren on the top and stops him! turns out it was one of those undercovers which have no lives and have to steer people up to try get them to f**k up. My mates car got impounded for a week so sucks for him! I thought it was pretty funny but pretty sad too! well just sharing =) haha
