I restored the factory program a few weeks ago because the gear changes were too firm in the custom tune, then after about a week or so the light came on. I assumed it was because of the cat so I just loaded the custom tune back on which removes the o2 sensor cat problem. Then after another week or so the light came back on. I ran out of petrol a few days before the light came on as well (my fault ). Other than that, I can't think of the problem.

Just saw it, net took too long to load :( It's worth two posts though.

Does anybody know any likely causes of the check engine light? I've switched back to the custom tune after the check engine light came on before which I assumed was because of the cat.

Hey, I've had an aftermarket cat in for a while now along with some other parts, but I flash tuned it before the cat was in then had it custom tuned after. Recently I've become annoyed by the harsh gear changes so I loaded the factory program back up until I can find the time to get to a tuner. I've had it on the factory tune for about 3 or so weeks and yesterday the engine check light came on... is this the so called 'limp' mode?
