Dump Pipe, Help

hi guys,

have recently had my wastegate ported and bigger flapper, but im still getting boost spike, had the guys looking at it yesterday and they think its the flapper hitting on the dump pipe.

so I have taken my dump off to have a look and it seems possible, plus it has seen better days, it gone flakey around the edge and has cracks.

so can some one recommend a good value for money dump, seen some for like $800 dont wanna spend that much

I have a 3.5in atm from RDP but I would rather go for a 4in

Why not just take the dump pipe to an exhaust shop and have them build up the outside of the welds and then grind out the inside, should have no clearance issues then.

bigbore on ebay have one for like 350$ or so. Its 4" in and out. I got one and its some good stuff! Pickup in frankston if your in melbourne.

Is yours stainless? Cause don't the mild steel ones sound tinny?

no not stainless.

think I might just weld this one up and grind it out a bit for now and see if it fixes the problem.

would there be much differance from the 3.5in to a 4in? it's 3.5in cat back too

You can buy a 10mm spacer that fits between your turbo and exhaust like a gasket, I think it's 10-20 bucks. would probably do the trick. I'm pretty sure I saw it on ebay.

it's the flange for if you want to make a custom dump Matty . . . but I like your thinking. Very hard to make it work with a split dump setup though.

Split dumps are no good for when you have the larger flapper mod. The flapper is now fouling on the inside of your dump, meaning it can't open fully/quickly enough & thus causing overboost issues.

Get a 4" dump & you'll be sorted

my xforce dump was fine ^^^ but I had no flapper mod. baf6 where are u ? scotts rods exhausts in ipswich will make a custom mild steel 3.5 dump for bout 450. 4 inch would be a tiny bit more expensive. he only charged me 480 for a high mount 3.5 dump mild steel. they are bloody good there !!!!!
