Battery Location

I have a plazmaman battery hold down but I need a gel oddesey battery or similar to fit in it costing $250-500,which I would and was going to do,BUT...I had the battery in the boot on my el xr6t,and still have all the cables,battery,battery box,so it would cost me $0.

So I can sell the plazmaman battery clamp and save the money by not buying a battery and then get a process west surge tank now (instead of making one) and put my battery in the boot.

Or get a gel battery and run the plazmaman battery clamp (I have a plazmaman 4"intake and air/battery box) and not do anything about a surge tank for a while coz I'll be too poor.

Let me know what you think and why. I dont think there are any real advantages to either performance wise,and I dont mind getting a gel battery if it will be better.

well I got plazmaman cooler pipes and plenum, and a nizpro 4" intake/battery relocation.

Lets just say, I hope I never have to replace my battery. (a: cause of costs for a drycell and B: cause the plenum TB sits over the battery).

Ill prob end up puttign in the boot at some stage. I suggest you do the boot install

mines in the boot works fine and is out of the way easy

Yeah I got mine in the boot, just make sure its done up tight.. my sub rattled the + side off and I could not get into my boot to put it back on.. ended up crawling thru the back seat over my amp and over my sub to hit the boot release.. not easy being a big guy either haha

Leave it at the front of the car. There are new Lithium Ion batteries that are more compact than anything on the market and will easily fit up front. Saves on weight by smaller/lighter battery and no extra cables. Once I come back from overseas I will be putting an order in. About $500 for the custom bat I want made.

Here in sydney are there any rules as to what type of battery goes in the boot?

its in the back to save me buying a smaller battery,I already had all this stuff just sitting in the shed.

the battery in the boot has to be either a sealed battery(no gas venting) or a european style,semi sealed battery(has a vent hose you run outside the car to vent battery gas out of your boot)
