Tyre Comparo - Which Ones Are Good?

Some one told me about the Goodyear directionals about 3 months ago when I was getting a puncture repair. Didn't even know they existed. However - I like the Goodyear Assymetrics. I use them but they don't last long for me -maybe 10,000 to 15,000 km per corner

OK Guys, looking for opinions.

First of all how many clicks are you guys getting out of the Dunlop SportMaxx TT?

I have had two sets of SP 3000A on my BA Turbo, about 68Ks on the first set, second set, bad shoulder wear, but still about 55Ks..

Looking at these options:

another set of SP3000A,

SportMaxx,

SportMaxx TT

Yoko A drive R1

Yoko S Drive

GoodYear F1 Directional 5

Any experience with these, or other good suggestions?

I got less than 10k out of my oem dunlops. That included trackdays. Have Toyo T1 sport up front. They are ok but my trackday semislick Advan AO48's are a much stickier tyre. They are 60wear rated though.

im a tight arse with bad driving habbits.... so $300 a corner is not in my ball park.

getting 245/40-18 rotalla tires on the front, and eyeing off some federal 595s or achiles atrs for the rear and going to try and squeeze a 265/35-18 on it.

I know that may not be optimal, but I dont mind a car that moves in the corners, feels good having some control in your hands, and brings the speeds down when you do feel like pushing it a bit.

so, does any one know how the atrs rate against the 595s when talking about straight line grip. also, do either of them handle hard driving better than the other (ive noticed some tires eat them selves with lots of throttle and a bit of slip)

each or those 265s can be had, delivered to perth, for about $ 170 each.

I recently threw on a set of 4 Yokohama dB V551 245/45/18 and they are awesome, but expensive! They are certainly the quietest tyres I have ever owned and so far, grip very well. I decided to go with a 45 profile (instead of the 40) to give a smoother ride on the crappy roads here in newy and they don't disappoint. Speedo now matches that of my GPS to the km/h.

Just bought Goodyear Assymetric 3's made in Germany for all 4 corners 245/35R19  Cost $300 each.  Will let you know how they perform.  Already I can feel the difference in grip compared the OEM Dunlop Maxx Sports that were on beforehand.  With the custom tune from PitLane I was always worried about traction off the lights but today didn't lose traction at all from any of my take offs.   So looks like Goodyear are continuing the good tradition - been using the Assymetric 2s for ages on my BA

Nitto NT05s 305/30/20 $450 each small side wall but cheapest

Mickey et streets 305/35/20 $700 each bigger side wall

Toyo R888 285/35/20 $480 each less girth but bigger side wall

P Zero 305/35/20 $650 each bigger side wall

Being a work ute that does skids I would have the cheapest load rated tyres on there possible. 

Spare set of mt's for the drags

Haha I like grip mate, if I wanna skid ill skid, if the tyre is a $200 special  or $700 fark me wont change a thing in the moments I feel like poping the clutch.

 

So ideally a 305 with 35 side wall is best option, though do I go the mickies or the P Zero

 

Im thinking mickies, just not sure a 305 is best for a 10inch rim, though readying over a few different sites, mustangs mainly, they are getting 315 on a 10 which is suprising though in the US... so could be different rim/tyre size standards to OZ.
