Your screwed either way, The RTA states No stopping, means no stopping for any reason.

I would say its cock up when no standing signs were replaced with no stopping or no parking.

This is not a one off, they're everywhere...

What's the point of the no stopping sign anyway?

As was pointed out, they replaced the 'No Standing' sign......so ppl dont park on the corner beside the STOP sign....

So you're saying No Standing signs don't exist anymore and have been replaced with No Stopping signs?

Did hear somewhere they are phasing them out because they're too confusing. Certainly cleared things up in this instance.

They have just gone nuts with the yellow paint up here instead.

I can see the funny side, but would you change what you normally do anyway. The 'no stopping' signage is in place to stop ppl from parking and obscuring your vision at the intersection. A disobey 'no stopping' is more serious then a disobey 'no standing', and as mentioned no standing signs are being removed and replaced with no stopping.

There is an exemption to stopping at a 'no stopping' sign, being car broken down and medical emergency or reciving treatment of an urgent and necessary nature.

The STOP sign, your screwed unless you stop at or near the intersection but before the STOP sign/line.. Also the old 3 sec stop rule was repealed years ago, so please stop doing it. It just p!isses everyone behind you off.

If you look at the distance the No Stopping sign is from the corner (and Stop sign) you couldn't park there in anything bigger than a Smart car!!!

Really, stop signs aren't necessary anyway. What is the purpose of them? Revenue raising?

Give way would be safe and acceptable in all but a few cases surely.
