It's not under warranty I bought it 2nd hand...I took it to Nizpro yesterday, they rang today said it was all fine just wanted to chuck it on the dyno and check it out, then got a phone call later saying the turbo was making a weird noise and needs replacing. Not happy, only done 500km in the car since purchase.

Did they tell you exactly what is wrong with it? "new turbo" seems like an extreme diagnosis, it could most likely be repaired.

Shop around if you are handy with tools mate, you can probably pick the new CHRA (cartridge) up much cheaper than what they are going to quote you and you should be able to do it yourself.

They said the bearings were stuffed or something?? I was pretty inclined to question it, but I noticed Nizpro seems to be a fairly decent joint, anyone think otherwise? Are they doing the right thing??

They know their stuff.

I think the point the guys are making is that it might be repairable, which will save you a fair bit of money compared to a new turbo.

get them to tell you exactly what needs to be done and what it's going to cost.

Then ring around some other shops ( site advertisers) and make a call on who you want to fix itbeerchug.gif

Yeah they look like they know what there doing from the cars that were there...If it is repairable, would they not know that? Would there be any reason they would not offer that? Sorry for all the stupid questions I'm new to turbo cars.
