Thanks, the dealer is great, they have gone out of their way to fix anything that annoys me, the cars had the entire radio antenna cable replaced amoungst other things done, I just dont know where its going to end, very depressing when I cant afford to just go buy a new car because Ford Australia cant build their cars to any level of quality.. The number of people here who have got a new Ford had had zero faults is certainly outweighed by us that have, plus we all know alot of people have alot of pride and probarly put things asside due to brand loyalty.

Fords quality control is pisspoor, we need some new legislation in australia to protect new car buyers, especially of locally produced cars as it seems neither are much good. In saying that however my neighbours had a number of V8 HSV's and never had a problem with one of them :(

Hi Guys just new to this forum at posting, spent the last few months looking around. Bought a Bf turbo in Sept last year :pinch: . I'm sorry to hear about those little niggles your having, but I can relate a little too. I have what seems to be a sticky throttle and rough idle on cold as well. Rough idle has only started with colder weather. I took the car into ford for the 3000km check with a list of niggles as well. They fixed most things but gave me the brush off on the sticky throttle. I also don't understand how ford can service high performance cars without the proper testing equipment Dyno's etc. I wonder if it's possible to get warranty work done but other workshops that have the right gear.

sorry to hear xrbloke.... my last T was a dud and hence I feel for you... my problems were worse then the ones you have listed but a problem is a problem and it should be fixed :pinch:

My new T is much better and only has one ongoing issue. (touches wood)

Yeh I guess my issues are pretty unsubstantial compared to alot of people, the car doesnt use oil, has a pretty smooth auto (except some backlash from 2nd to 3rd) and overall is pretty nice to drive. The little things however certainly take the gloss off it, specially after having a number of issues with the AU and a few with my BA II work ute.

At the end of the day the premium sound is my biggest issue, the rest of my list is pretty easy to fix asside from the rough idle, the car is going in this week and I plan on leaving it with them till the fix the premium sound, id say they will have to replace the unit itself as we have already been through the antenna connectors.

It sux to fork out so much for a car and have these anoying little issues but like you said there fairly minior in the scheme of things. I hope they get it sorted out for you.

Hey guys,

After our little cruise last night im really getting tired of the BA and the issues im having with it, its depressing when youve spent 40 k on a car to have continuous niggles with it.

Its an AUGUST 04 so you would think ford would have sorted their sh*t out by then.. heres my list for its 15 k service this week.

1. 15,000 km’s service with oil provided.

2. Premium Sound Radio Quality issue, static and radio drop out, antenna related issue that’s been looked at before, lose radio between Brisbane and Gold coast.

3. Handbrake rubbing, making shush shush noise and burning smell.

4. Alarm boot sensor faulty, alarm goes off when car is unlocked.

5. Drivers side slim weather shield coming off, been replaced before.

6. Vibration in steering at 100 – 110 km’s an hour, balance issue?

7.            Fuel usage is high, car sits on about 13 - 14, even on the highway.

8. Fuel Gauge is incorrect, when its at half way the car has only used 20 litres, needs recalibration or sensor replacement.

9. Car idles rough and shakes when cold, runs fine when its at running temperature, usually only in the morning. Had the TPS sensor replaced a week or so ago, thought this fixed the problem but it didnt.

The biggest thing im dissapointed with is the premium sound issue, I paid an extra $1000 like alot of you to have this and to get static and interference through it all the time and even have stations drop out its a disgrace, if the dealer cant satisfy me and get this piece of sh*t sorted then ill be focking it off as soon as I can afford to on probarly a new VE. Im sick to death of Ford, I had issues with my AU which forced me to retire it before its use by and it looks like this things gonna be the same.

G'day mate

As far as the radio reception loss is concerned, do you have a Metalised film on the windows as this has been known to cause this problem even on FM stations.

Some people take the view that this only effects AM ststions but it can be FM as well.

Others have had this type of issue traced to the actual connections to the on screen Antenna.

Hope this helps and good luck mate.

Hey Big Al,

I asked the same question to the tint company that did my car, they said it was non metalic and I know its 3M stuff as it still has the little black 3M logos on it (me too lazy to get it off).

In saying this however theres no way of me proving myself if it is or isnt metalic, I really have no idea, but in saying this the antenna lead had to be replaced at 4,000 kms as a trim had been pushed through it and this was causing an earting issue whereby id get interference when I gave it some gas.

If worse comes to worse I could get the tint taken off and replaced, but ill wait and see.

Cheers.

Pity to hear you are having issues - stick with it and get them sorted - they are great cars.

I have a 2005 Mk2 Manual XR6T - and love it - had no issues at all - and enjoy driving it every time I get into it. (just to balance the scales).
