Yes the PS3 is 1.3 compliant as HDMI 1.3 has the ability to pass 8 channels of uncompressed LPCM. I say the info on amps is wank factor because as stated in the CNET info also that it is rare that an amplifier processes LPCM differently to bitstream. If it does perform differently than to me the amp is not worth owning as uncompressed LCPM is what the signal ends up as.

To me the PS3 is the only blu-ray player to get as apart from being a gaming console also it is possibly forever updateable via downloads (as demonstrated by the DTS-HD MA update ages ago), so if it can add via software this update then surely it could add future sound formats up to whatever the hardware limitation of the equipment is?

Anyway... Love the PS3 and COD MW2 rocks, lol
