Chris!!) I will be "Redhawk that is called Redhawk" (PFJ salute included) :D And I hope to bring her along to the December Tickford club meet. Maybe RedCoat or even TurnCoat ... No, no, don't worry about me, I'll get over it ... :tears: :nugget: Three years.......Three years....Three years, not that long mate, unless you have the life span of a shrew then 3 years is a bloody long time. :D
24/09/03 07:47 AM24/09/03 07:47 AM #52 Author Well Trend Setters signed the deal today so the Redhawk is no longer the dealers stock car............It's........ MINE!!!!! :D B) Found out something interesting but, the GT comes with the leather wrap sports steering wheel, you can have the FPV steering wheel as an optional extra for $1150.00. Now......must be a friggin brilliant wheel for 1150 front bar trading tokens right?...........cops Ar$e,.....all you get is the little FPV pewter button that sits on the bottom left of the wheel . For an extra $1150 I would expect it to be made from Java Rhino leather and Snow Leopard fur for those cold winter mornings. Anyhow, I'm off the wagon (I was sitting on the tailgate before) and back onto the booze to get myself comatose for the next 6 weeks, or so.

24/09/03 12:04 PM24/09/03 12:04 PM #57 Well done Silverhawk. I hope you are happy with your purchase.Yesterday I went to visit a Sydney Ford dealer that specializes in Herrod stuff, as I’m after springs, quick shift and lower grille for my T. To get a feel for the springs I was taken for a ride in a GT with modified springs and other engine mods. I was amazed how quick that car was; it felt similar to an APS phase 2 Turbo that I’ve been in (in terms of acceleration)… it also rode very well; …. So I suggest that if you want to have any chance of keeping up with us (after we mod) then check out the Herrod stuff I.e springs, full custom exhaust and ecu change…. AND keep your warranty. Also, parked in the caryard was a manual blueprint GT-P demo car with leather, sunroof and other goodies with 9k on the clock. It was the dealer principal’s car. Anyway, as you do, I also decided to check out the option of swapping my manual blueprint with leather and sunroof & 6k on the clock…. They want $76k for the car (actual retail is $85k (yes!!), but offered me $40k, then revised to $43k.That means me dropping $13k off my original purchase price from 4 months ago, them dropping $9k of theirs (doesn’t seem fair).I took the GT-P for a test drive. The V8 sound is glorious, seats fantastic, and very easy to drive. I’d rate it marginally quicker than the T, but with nowhere near the extra torque down low that I expected. However, I doubt that it’s worth 30k (maybe $20 closer) more than the T (with the options). The cheaper GT may be a better option if you don’t want the extras. I can see where the extra money has gone into the GT. Unfortunately, the T has been designed and built to a price; yet its base performance is excellent for the price. If I was choosing again I’d go the GT-P. I initially had sticker fright with the $85k GT-P quote, with the dealer not prepared to discount (back in May). Now I’d go that way. But …. the main issue for me is the lease; after $5k of lease payments the payout is $2k more than the original amount? So jumping ship would cost $13+5+2k = $20k!!!!!!So it just doesn’t seem to make sense to me…. And of course my wife would NEVER EVER let me forget about it.So turbo mods here we go. 19” wheels ordered today.Good luck.Brian
24/09/03 12:20 PM24/09/03 12:20 PM #58 Author Brian,Same here, but the difference I believe is worth it both in the short term and long term. Keep the kays down and resale I feel will be better for the GT.The drive train, the suspension, fantastic , brakes (did'nt go the Brembos) are very good. The quality of the seats and the interior of the GT too is worth it, but the note really is worth the extra kays alone. How many sleeps?..........Too f*uckn many. :( AND....... To make matters worse, just got off the phone to FPV and they reckon, "Give yourself 2 - 3 months ".........Geezus H tap dancing friggin Chr!st!! :tears: At least I'll have the silverhawk to play with for a while, and it will give me more time to sell her. :Al

05/06/04 07:29 AM05/06/04 07:29 AM #60 Author Maaayte, what planet have you been holidaying on??? I've posted heaps of pics and comments.Overall bloody great car, goes like a cut cat, handles like you would'nt believe, get waves from Expensive Daewoo owners and chicks. Every hoon wants to have a go at you.....yessss!! Check signature for the little extras. Got normal GT stripes, after market, couldn't get the shelby stripes (bugga).Complaints: weak clutch pressure plate (cheap b@stards!) and squealing brake pads, Ford fix very soon so I have been told by FPV. Here's a pic of the 'fox' and hypnodocs 'beast'
