October 6, 200917 yr #1 I thought I would let you know since researching the topic, about importing your own tyres from tirerack.I was looking at semi slicks in 245 35 19 and 275 30 19, there is not many options available in that size. You can get Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 for US$1132 plus US$200 Fedex 3-5 day delivery. With the exchange rate being about 90 cents, that is a fairly good price for semi slicks delivered to your door.I had bought tyres while contacting them on email....wish I had have waited now. They are supposed to be a good tyre and are not available in Australia yet. They have a high enough load rating for our cars so are completely legal.....just not warranted by Bridgestone here.
October 6, 200917 yr #2 they will also be subject to GST on importation at 10% and possibly duty at 5%
October 6, 200917 yr #3 Let us know how you go if you decide to get some. I've been searching around trying to find something in 245/35/19 for ages.Benny
October 6, 200917 yr #4 Had the RE11s on my phoon for a few hundred kms now, had 20000kms on SP9000s before.Very sticky, less tire roar, wider in my 245/40 18s, gives more protection for the rim. Softer feel to the ride.Very happy with Tirerack. Took a week to get to NZ. FedEx.Pattern looks tough as.
