Pod Filter In Airbox With F6 Lower Snorkel?

Featured Replies

hey all how’s it going?

Currently at the moment I have a lower F6 snorkel with a K&N filter as my CAI set up… Driving the other day it become obvious to me that I was obsessed with induction noise and that real Woooosh sound :D… so it sprung to my mind that would it benefit putting a pod filter inside my custom lower F6 snorkel fitted XR6T airbox?

Will I notice more induction noise? And I mean really what is the better option? Staying with the K&N or getting a decent Pod filter?

Any input will be appreciated

I have thought of doing this. How will you get the pod in the box?

Yea I tried doing this one bored weekend. I didnt use an K&N filter, but I didnt notice any increase in induction noise. Im assuming its because the pod was still in the box anyway, therefore it wouldnt be different to having a panel filter.. I may be wrong. If you dont have an issue buying a K&N pod then give it a shot and post your results so I know to buy one :buttrock:

The added benifit of a pod filter is more surface area.

More surface area means more flow capability.

also done this mod with my K&N pod filter, took the top half of the box off than I had 30 degree angled (I think) pipe that made the pod sit right in the bottom of the lower airbox with the snorkel right there too, induction noise was alot louded but at the end of the day I dont wanna be booked for a pod filter that's only going to give a couple rwkw's if that, I am much happier with my panel filter. my 2cents anyway.
