Did I Just Get Bent Over By Ford Service?

Put my 05 BF XR6T in for a service yesterday. It's been running fine except for a small drip (from the transmission apparently) and a recurring problem with the emissions light coming on.

Just got a call from them saying they've done the following:

60k service: $320

Additives: $18

Replaced transmission fluid: 8 litres @ $52/litre = $398(!!!!!!)

Added coolant: $76.78

Coolant Flush: $131

Cleaned throttle body: $85

Replaced rear discs and brakes: $627 parts, $185 labour

Total inc GST comes in at $2,600.

Have I just been totally f*cked?

well at least they didn't charge you for the vaso......

that's huge...put up the bill so we can see what they charged you for....

U would have surely signed the work order authorising them to do all this, bu the costs might not have been on there?

They told me they'd fix the leak in the trans, no mention of cost of fluid. The brakes and discs ditto

absolutely! hope they rang you before going ahead with all the work? Otherwise tell them to get stuffed, pay for what you asked to be done and leave.

what the hell is "$18 Additives"? why does your gearbox need 8L of fluid? is that correct?

$85 to remove intake hose and spray cleaner on the TB.... and you got owned on the brakes.

He called me telling me what needed to be done but said he didn't have costings

I think additives means they got a few of the apprentices around and had a circle jerk - the $18 is for the 2 copies of FHM they needed to get them going.
