My New Tyres

Getting a pair of 235/45/17 toyo r1r on the weapon this week, was going to get the toyo t1-r but in the 255/40/17.

Have I made the right choice because I know the r1r is the next step up from the t1-r but for holding traction in a straight line wouldn't I have

been better off with the bigger tyre?

had a set of proxe 4's on my xr8 and they where useless

I have toyo prox 4 on my 350rwkw typhoon and sure 1st gear you have to be gentle, but once you are in second it doesnt spin. They do need at least 40psi in them though otherwise they spin up like crazy. If I have only 38psi in them, the traction is about as good as if it is raining. LOL.

Well got my car back yesterday now has 360rwkw getting the tyres put on today, see how they handle

Wider isn't always better if you compare a crap 265 for example, to a great 235.

At the end of the day anythin over say 340rwkw is gonna be hard to tame on the street

I have the R1R's on my car and they stick like glue once warm. 1st and 2nd still struggle a bit although they are heaps better than any of the previous tyres I owned inc T1r's Mythos and Kumho Ecsta's....

Im sure you'll be impressed with these tyre's.
