Cheers guys, ford have deciced they'll replace all the studs and nuts for me, (hope they dont think im paying) haha but ill make some tabs up for it and bang them on.. cheers :)

Stuff paying a mechanic to tighten a bolt just take a breather and try again,

Anyone make a kit with all new bolts/studs/nuts to do manifold to head, manifold to turbo, and turbo to dump?

I've seen the Atomic stuff, but I don't want to pay $550.

Turbo & dump is being replaced so good opportunity to change stud's etc and rid it of this problem once and for all.

yeah GCG turbo have a few options Studs + Lockers Dump and Turbo Gasket

Exhaust Manifold gasket

Good quality stuff its the labor that kills it ive had a crack twice at doing mine but alas that lower stud still eludes me :censored:

I can get at it easy by using a few wobble bars and a universal joint onto the socket. I use 1/4" gear and step down my 3/8"ratchet to the 1/4" extension. Easy to get at from near the wheel arch, in line with that bolt.

found this thread by chance - just took my turbo off and found there was no gasket from the turbo to manifold :furious:

after reading around I found that it's actually normal.. either way I'll be putting in a gasket when the turbo goes back on

im a little bit a lot years late on replying to this thread, but if it helps anyone else in the future - undo the actuator bracket on the front housing of the turbo and move it away to make life easier and you can get a ratchet spanner into there with some decent room to swing, crack her open and then when she's loose enough undo her with your fingers :spiteful:
