Got A Speeding Ticket Today

Count yourselves lucky you don't live down in Melbourne with the hoon laws. Hitting 45 and over, ducking in and out of lanes smoking your tyres and generally being a dick will get you fast tracked to 12 months loss of license 8 points on your license, and a bit over $1000 fine, and if you are charged with what is referred to as "speed dangerous" then forget about the points you will accumulate and the fine (large as it maybe) your biggest worry will be how much jail time you will recieve.

I got done this arvo, 72 in a 60.

the cop was a complete cock. first thing he said was do you have a lawful reason to be exceeding the speedlimit? (how the f*ck are you meant to anser that?)

I ignored that dig and still tried to be nice, then he took delight in telling me that I was 213meters short of the 70 zone I thought I was in. (I pulled out of a side street one further up than I usually do, everyday for the last 3 weeks).

once he gave me the 2 point and $250 fine he told me that the police commission is trying to reduce deaths on the road, this was on a striaght 2 lane double carrageway.

I`d had enough of his smug attitude by this point, (my boss in the passenger seat was just about to call him a *beep*).

I raised a number of issues-

trying to save lives, how about go to black spots and make your presence known, rather than hiding behind a power pole and jumping out like a power ranger with glee that you`ve caught someone

if you paid as much attention to speeding/revenue raising as to do poper policing, I would have heard something in regards to my recent assult and valdalism to my car, but its not like speeding or hooning where we get f*cked there and then, instead im left with a bent door and been assulted to know that it might go to caught within the next 12 months.

but mate at the end of the day you must sleep well knowing that your a hero and have saved the life of that child I was about to run down deliberately in the next 213meters before the 70 zone.

also told him that they should have a different uniform so the distaste for them doesnt extend to the entire police force, just their department.

now I know there are decent police out there, I and a few others had a long discussion with a police sargent the other week who now runs the police drag team privately as the western australian police commisioner has withdrawn all funding from it, was a great bloke. its just that given my current situation with a new car with a bent door that leaks in the rain due to a drunken lunatic attack me whilst in my car, a court case that wont eventuate and this smug twat today has really pissed me off.

end rant.

mate I was in the wrong and fair enough, was more than happy to cop a fine, but the bloke was a complete upstart. would have had all the respect in the world if he gave me a bollocking (even more if he`d drop the speed 3k's for me) but the guy was just arogant, power junkie.

yer, going to question the amount, I thought it was only 150

need to talk to the departed one for a jammer

Best coins you will ever spend man...

I just pulled out an old speeding fine from my youthful boy-racer days & it says 9-19km over the posted speed limit is two demerit points & $150

We were unsure if it was me or mum driving the car on that day though so I paid the fine part of it & a bottle of Beam from the goodness of my heart :idunno:

So he was doing 212??

Woah, impressive!

My highest is 108kms over the limit lol. Dishing out major chop to R33! Cop was pretty good cause I kept my mouth shut. Bloke I was racing ended up in court and all sorts. Just as well we didnt have hoon laws 4 years ago or else the car woulda been crushed!!

yep 212 in an 80kph zone !! reckons he was taking a swig of a can of coke which looked like bourbon in the photo so the cops were dark as Kamahl at him when he rocked up to check out the photo thinking he was DUI as well haha
