Talk to a broker. I did when i lost my license. Wound up insuring my cars with CGU. Have had great service from them and trouble free claims (3 in total, over $25k in claims) and my excess went up by a couple of hung. After no claims for two years it's come down again

I'm 23 & my premium is ~$1300. I have an absolute shocker of a record & the car is insured for agreed value... RAC

Kael, rating four is shocking! I got put straight to rating 1 & have only ever had insurance once before for 1 year...

I pay 1600 a year with just car and it is insured with all the mods that have been done but the excess is like 2400 iam 24

I am 25 and with Just Car and clean record and am insured for $1500 per yr with full mods listed and $450 excess (+$600 if rims are damaged).

Mine is around 1600 with Justcar, I'm 23.

Insured for 52k.

Excess is pretty crazy though, they stack a car excess on top of an age excess, I think mine is like 1800?

Anyone under 25 manage to get insurance with Shannons?

I've tried 3 times over 3 years to get a quote on insuring my ED, and I got a different reason for not wanting to cover me each time.

I've got no license loss, no points, no accidents, no claims, nothing.

If you want to get in with shannons look into doing a basic cams license -that will give you a lot more credibility. I've had my turbo pulsar with them since I was 21. Havent got the falcon with them yet because it isnt modded and I only have 1 garage (shannons expects my car to be garaged where possible).

Shannons dont seem to be alot cheaper than just car but they have a much better agreed value and other conditions.

Try GIO and/or a Edlers broker...

Elders changed there quoting system a few years ago, age, and driving history didnt matter for calculating premiums, not sure if they have changed it back again yet, but that's how it was when I last called them 18 months ago...

So a 45yo with a good safe history was paying the same as a 28yo with a bad driving history in the same location...

If the history was to dirty then they would be rejected but the premium was the same if they did offer insurance...

GIO - 28 and 27 (da gurly) - both insured on both policies - F6 and the XR5 and was the cheapest we found!

both sub - 1000$

I must be an arse; I have called just cars 3 times in the last 2 yrs trying to get a quote and they tell me they dont insure my car for under 25yo's..

I will call them again monday and suss it out lol; I think I am paying too much now, back when I was 21 it seemed ok as I was only just legal to drive the thing!

Gotta agree with that, im 23, have a clean record as well, they quoted me $2200-2800 something from memory...
