March 24, 200917 yr Author Maybe the fact the engine needs a rebuild may account for the lack of speed? Also during the last drag meeting, before the 'incident' the hose came off the actuator and she over boosted (alarm went off on the boost gauge).I tried to put the car on a DD to run Shoot6, operator backed off as the car was boosting 21psi at half throttle.Later I found the hose off. Next drag run a couple of weeks later, well you know the rest.Maybe something or nothing?
March 24, 200917 yr Maybe during the off season you could put the car on a diet - bonnet, boot in fibreglass, get another set of doors from the wrecker, put lexan in and no openers/motors, remove the seats for the drags. This would be achievable for around $1500 - might make quite a difference, and all swappable with a days work (put normal doors, bonnet and boot back on, interior back in).
March 24, 200917 yr Author Like the doors idea, fibreglass bonnets seem to be a little expensive though.Would have stripped the car for this final weekend of racing, but not to be.Bloosted, that's why I was posting, for the claimed rwkw my mph is too low. With an extra 50rwkw after the last tune I should have made more than an extra 5mph, don't you think?
March 25, 200917 yr Might sound like a dumb question but are you putting your race tune in for these runs? I noticed you have 2 tune on your dyno graph, 340 and 400. 340 could help explain things.
March 25, 200917 yr Your 400+ seems a little high for 16psi. Mph reflects more like 340rwkw which is more likely to be the case on a DD dyno.
March 25, 200917 yr Author It's actually 17psi, but I take your point. All runs have been on the same dyno, 234 stock then 300 with no cat and injectors, then full Plazmaman induction inc plenum, 60lb inj, turbo back exhaust twin 2.5 no cat, PW surge and pump to give the last dyno of 400.Anyway it's broken atm so all is academic.

March 25, 200917 yr so BCL's 132 mph would need 430+rwkw?There's a lot of variation between dynos, but on the hub dyno (reading higher than shoot6f) that I use around that level.I've found mph has increased in line with my rwkw increases, and I started from a 120mph baseline on pump fuel and stock engine & ZF, gradually increasing power by changing components and tunes. If you don't have the mph you don't have the power.Brian
