I've always loved RB powered cars, but I did love my T. So unless a dirt cheap GTR falls in my lap I'll be back in a T in the not to distant future.

Pretty much the same for Ford as well....

last time I looked fords had fly by wire throttle, how can they run a cable?

Because what they are making is not an attractive coupe... It's a BA with it's rear door section cut off and welded together. The AU roof line makes it look like a beetle

its not an au roofline, it appears to have front and rear BA glass in it.

but god damn...that coupe looks crap without a wing or lip, it just screams for SOMETHING to be there.

  • Still have a turbo, it's just on a diesel.

Coupes are way too niche, to have a profitable market in OZ

anyway here's one I prepared earlier

didnt ford aus sell mustangs back in the days of the AU? I remember seeing ford ads in the papers advertising the mustang but it was like $70k+.

Also, yanks are shockinig designers...the cars are ugly, and underpinned by acient suspension... if only Ford bosses from the North would drive a falcon around for a few months.

.

They do drive them in the US, they have a fleet of international vehicles over there that they drive and evaluate on a regular basis. CEO Allan Mullaly even raved about how good the G6E Turbo is, he loved it. But the not made here syndrome will keep it out of the US. And Corporate Average Fuel Economy targets are killing off large vehicles in the US.

At least the yanks can recognise the VE is a piece of sh*t, Pontiac G8 sales are less than half what Expensive Daewoo planned to sell over there, so maybe the yanks aren't as dumb as we thought. It went on sale well before the GFC too so that not the sole reason they aren't selling, they just don't want them. Apparently GM have nearly 300 days worth of unsold G8 stock they just can't sell.

It's not about being 'dumb', it's about an auto market crash that happened shortly after the car debuted. Nothing is selling down there, not even the Prius. Before that it was a matter of the US seeing the highest fuel prices in their entire history. People were paying $7k USD for twenty year old Metros and Sprints. The car is incredible, if you ask me, and would have sold just as good or better than the Charger/300 with proper timing.
